You mean like the towers from Warcraft :-).. hmm... Maybe we should make planetary defensives a military project..
AlexG
I agree, I think colony ships and other huge ships should be extremely expansive.. In the next build we will start to play balance more.
He knows!!! SHHH... I like my score where it is :-)
You could first research a defensive Battle Cruiser early in the game then research an offensive Battle Ship if you wanted to attack later in the game. You would do this to fortify your star systems so you wouldn't have to worry about an invasion. Basically the idea is you would put more research into shields and armor for that ship instead of weapons. I guess there is no difference if we just create a new ship class, but I like having to make difficult decisions and think ahead in strategy
I really like paul's idea.. Seems like later in the game I am using battleships for defense and really that's just a waste. how about this idea, what do you guys think of giving you the option of researching defensive "ship type" or offensive "ship type" but once you make that choice you are stuck with that type of ship? or how about this instead after you build the ship two research options would appear.. You would then have to make a choice of what ship fills your needs most at that poi
Beware of the "Nothing" :-)
Thanks for the heads up..
Pelase list your hardware: Video Card (make sure you have the newest drivers) Sound card How much Ram CPU, make and speed motherboard, chipset Do you have the newest DirectX 8 version OS? Windows 2000? Try running your desktop at 16bit, 1024x768 Also try disabling your sound card, if that doesn't work.
I updated the Torin dreadnought, so for those of you who didn't see the "special version" to bad. ;p
Yeah we will be putting some major work on the planetlist soon.. Just have to get to it..
Lynch, I am also having the same problem with the game on my computer at home. This may be a good thing though, I could bring my computer into work and from there we can figure out the problem.
We have a small problem with the Torian Dreadnought, I will fix it on monday but for those of you who see it, I think you will get a good laugh. :D
We are going to make them larger, it's on our to do list..
We will have a dialog come up that will ask "Are you sure you want to colonize name01? We are also going to have a dialog for when you exit the game or overwrite a save game, these are thing that will be put in later of course.
No I just have tones of star systems and was saving my ships for a rainy day. I was playing average intelligence of the AI and on comfortable game level.
In the works :-)
The Event screen and I also updated the invasion screen. Here I will put up a few more of some battles from last night. *Don't mind the FPS counter was using it for testing. Added screen shots. Drengin Invasion Counter-Strike
Hmm... I will post this one on the board, I have also seen some wacky stuff with the Govenor, with text getting messed up.
Yeah! you can make the graphics with any program you wish as long as they are the right size and so on. it's one of the luxuries of a sprite based game.
- Multiplayer at best with something like Play by E-Mail or PBW like SEIV Playing turn based games online are for some people but not most of us that's what a FPS or an RTS is for. I for one want a really good single player experience first. Just go to game spy and see how many people are actually playing them on a daily bases, I think I counted 2 people playing Disciples compared to 5000 playing NWN. Anyway we came up with an idea of something called the metaverse where people can join emp
You guys will be happy to know we just added the dreadnought today :-) It should be in your next build. Hey dave, if you want to make a cool ship I would be more then happy to take a look at it.
How do good graphics get in the way? If they are done well they will enhance the experience and make the game more intuitive. I think you are talking about bad design with good art there is a major difference. Even if you have the best artist on the planet working on graphics for a game, if they have never actually played a PC game you will see graphics start to "get in the way" As a gamer first and a artist second I tend to look at what I would like as a gamer, then try to come up with grap
BTW what things do other Older 4E games have that we don't or will not have?
Right now the game still needs month of work, so yes I agree if you are going to judge the game as a final product it's unfinished. That's why we haven't released it yet :-) I mean after all it's still in beta. Just have patience's, we will do everything we can to make Gal Civ something special, it just takes time.
Cool, but I didn't spell anything wrong.
