Discord is no big deal. It is just a chat site that is connected to several popular games. Google it go there, join, and you are a discord guy. BTW if there is any early release of the game, you will get it, discord be damned.

There have been 1-2 Steam GCIII releases that have required a pw. The pw was posted on the support forum. There has been no release until now that was restricted to founders.

I have enthusiastically played and supported all but the OS2 version. Now I impatiently wait for Crusade. I have played all in pre-release and I have no problem with the bugs etc. I enjoy finding them as much as I enjoy playing the finished product.

If there is no tech tree to look at, this is bound to upset some folks. I always used the tree to plan my research, because it allows you to look further down the line to plan where you are going. I will miss that but I will get over it. As for the diversity of the base game tech trees, there are a number of faction/race specific techs, but probably 95% of the tech trees were identical with various techs being identical with a different name. Tech can only be more diverse in Crusade.<

This is an amazing expansion. It is more like a new game than an expansion. So much so that it seems that an option to play the old game would be appropriate. I assume that will not be possible without deleting the Crusade expansion. Hard to say what is the most appealing feature, but the civilization builder appeals to me greatly.

This is a minor problem with the game imo. I wish they would stop the surrendering to the faction of choice and only allow a surrender to the most powerful faction at war. I don't have the patience to deal with the "cat and mouse" and I seldom finish a game for this reason. Once I have established dominance the game is over. I usually save the game but never return to play it out. I don't do MP

Yes they avoid ship graveyards when on auto survey. I hate the wormholes, but I take it as a trade off for not having to micro-manage.

A year or so (maybe nearly 2 years) a number of us weighed in on the sensor issue. Those who wanted them nerfed won the day and I consider the issue settled. All I want is the ability to mod the sensors the way I want them. I don't do multiplayer so how I play should matter to nobody. Anyway it is fixed as of now, and it should last until the next update. :)

Maybe that would work. I always applied the mod to nav sensors only and I never used nav sensors for anything but a sensor boat in the early game. I don't want the sensor power to apply to all ships. If that can be done it will be fine. I had always worked with the ship component sensor range. This has been changed to sensor power and increasing the number seems to have no affect. I am not that good at modding so I could be missing something but I sort of doubt it. I copied

Not worried about bugs as much as access. I am an elite founder and I can't get a key. The reluctance to give me access when access has been given to 20-30 makes me wonder what is going on. I had access to the base game when it was barely out of alpha and had almost zero features. If the game is not crippled give me a key. Can you still mod in overpowered sensor boats? I have tried increasing sensor power in ShipComponentsDef but it has no effect that I can see.

I think it is ITEMS (it's the everloving mods stupid). I had several mods that were working as expected and I was getting occasional CTD. Only after deleting and reloading the game (and losing the working mods), did I manage to get the base game working as intended. This does not include workshop stuff only mods that have not been updated for the latest updates. It seems that mods that fail with new updates are somewhat pointless. I have also been anxiously waiting for a key but when I read the discord forum It seems there are many bugs. I would be willing to tolerate the bugs for a chance to play but the numerous errors and shortfalls make me wonder how soon the game will be released to us common folk.

Well I finally managed to fix it. My Avast AV was blocking some files from installing. I paused it for an hour and did a steam file integrity test. There were 3 missing files which were found and fixed. When I started the game, there were my four missing factions right where they belonged

Yes, I have all the campaigns and the Mercenaries Expansion but the Snathi, Torians and the Arceans are not included in the base game. That might be as intended but I would have sworn they were included as base game factions.

I have been away for a while and I recently deleted and reloaded 2.0. The Snathi and Arceans are not included as base game factions. Is this correct? I thought they were included after release of the campaigns. I know they can be added from the steam workshop but I mean base game versions of those factions.

They are dead DE. Many of the mods require updates with each GalCiv update. Deathwynd has left the building, not sure about Hereward but if the mods are out of date they are toast. Wish I could help. I used those mods myself and I miss them.
