A ship will not enter sentry if there is an opposing ship already in its sensor range, as well.
Not an issue with the bug in this case, as there are no ships in range. Someone else confirmed on the Steam forums that they have the same issue, so they don't use Sentry.
Are you saying in your game Sentry isn't working?
Exactly. And I've seen this issue many times.
Did anyone else buy this? It's really excellent, sometimes I just put it on in the background. You hear lots of stuff and details you don't normally get to hear when playing the game. Highly recommended, the composer did a great job.
Thanks.
A ship set to Sentry will wake when an opponent's ship enters sensor range. Use Guard if you don't want it to wake up.
Thanks. What you've described, though, is how Sentry is supposed to work, not what it actually does.
- Is there no special improvement for boosting ship construction for drengin? Terrans have Starport for example. Thanks!
- Sometimes I cannot build shipyards - the option is just not there for the planet concerned (playing as Drengin) - Annoying issue with "Sentry". I issue the instruction to set my ships to sentry, but it doesn't work. Instead, I keep having to press "Pass" every single turn for all ships I instructed to be on sentry in order to move on in the game. Frustrating. Love this game btw. Thanks!
I also wanted to ask a related question: I made textual changes (fixing typos) to the following files (Crusade 2.21): [ DiplomaticModifiersText.xml ] [ FlavorText.xml ] But when I loaded the game and checked the diplomacy screen, the typos were still there! Anyone know why? Thanks.
This award not only gives 50% morale to your homeworld, but affected Mars, too. Should only affect your homeworld (Earth in this case).
Diplo screen mouse-over pop-up when I try to trade with the Onxy or Slyne: "Currently trading with another player" - this message has been active for many turns. Later, I get a pop-up message saying the Onyx leader is busy trading but wants to trade with me, should I decline or wait? If I say wait, this message and the ability to proceed in the game are stuck in an infinite loop. I eventually declined and the loop cleared.
Have noticed the following conspicuous typos in the diplomatic screens. Have fixed in my local copy but thought I would share: [ DiplomaticModifiersText.xml ] "You proclaimed friendship my enemy" "We have an common enemy" "You are allied with infedels" "You have treaties with infedels" Also, a few statements have unnecessary periods at the ends of them. [v. 2.2] Elevation Foundation - planetary construction tooltip says benevolent ideology point every 2 turns but ideology screen says every 5 turns. Which is correct?

Nothing too complex or in-depth that the real knowers of the game are talking about. Just a few simple things: 1) Have morale stats tell you whether morale is falling or rising (v. useful) 2) More variety/greater number of citizen/character names (it's a bit embarrassing to have "Sarah Karim" and then "Sarah Karim 1") - this should be easy to do and improves immersion 3) Option of whether to garrison transported legions on invaded planets or keep them in the transports
Lol, thanks for your thoughts guys
I had a problem some months ago where the base game was broken on my Win 10 laptop. There was no fix for it at the time but it's starting to sound like a Windows Update-caused issue.
Same - (with Ludicrous map with half a dozen AIs. 300-and-something turns in and turns are taking around 1 minute to process (i7 oc' to 4.5 GHz))
Every game when I am Pragmatic the Altarians (who are supposedly "Benevolent") declare war on me early and with no provocation. Anyone else find this strange from a Benevolent civ?
I find I'm building at least two, sometimes three or four, Entertainment Centres on each planet just to keep Morale above the magic 65% number (I believe it is). It sure is tougher than it was to keep folks happy, but overall I see that as a good thing, as it was too easy before.
Beta-opt-in 2.14 of 5/16: "eyes of the universe" improvement appears to be bugged. Supposed to show only the AI homeworlds, but instead shows many other AI colonies as well.
Wow, so around 365 turns into my "ludicrous" size galaxy on EASY the leading AI civ that I have so far encountered has the following stats vs. me: Me AI ships 13 1181 (!) bases
I know it's still very early days but I would like some folks to chime in on what you think is a good rig for playing "ludicrous" galaxies tolerably well? At the mo, I'm getting quite noticeable turn slow-down heading towards 300 turns in, and that is only with one AI "discovered" yet. My game actually locked up completely/froze towards 400 turns on an "excessive" galaxy, though I am hoping this is an issue they can fix. Current specs are: i7-4770K
Many thanks for these useful explanations and tips, Publius!
(Normal difficulty) - I got about 10 large hull warships in return for just for offering to embargo another AI! Admittedly I was allied to the civ who gave me the stuff, but it is still too easy I think. Hope this can be rebalanced in future iterations, thanks.
In my current game (latest 2.14 opt-in beta, Normal) it says 44 billion total population in the civ-wide summary figure in the top-left of the screen, yet when I count up my pop on a per-planet basis, I only have around 14.5 billion. What am I missing here? Thanks.
