They have no reason to make peace until you kick them for a while. The only way I have had them request peace is to destroy enough of their ships and capture enough planets that your strength is at least 3 or 4 hundred higher than theirs.

When someone contacts you, is there a way to get the name of his empire in the diplomacy window? Right now all you get is his personal name and I can never remember which empire they go with.
If you trade away your Helios Ore, then any design that was built up to the hull capacity will dissapear until you get it back. Because Helios ore helps in minaturization.
[quote who="hardcore_gamer" reply="2" id="3609623"] Quoting The Sisko, reply 1 Not sure about the Artifact question. The XML suggests it only goes to AI majors and not minors or the human player. Could easily be wrong about that though. The Peacekeepers just spawn in a a ship for each hull size and a
You are right, it was Helios Ore. I went and traded for a couple and my missing designs came back.
I have noticed that when i design a ship, that sometimes its design will vanish from the shipyard for about 20 turns and then return. During the period it is missing I can neither build that design or upgrade to it. Has anyone else seen this?
It doesn't change your save game, so you can still load it with no problem.
On top of this forum, in the pinned post, is the Galciv road map thread that has all that information.
I was just attacked by some space monsters, which was an event I didn't know was in the game. It's the little suprises like that that make me love this game.
Mars has a VERY thin atmosphere. But with the tech level you are at in the game, you probably thickened it up a bit.
I had to drop down all the way to easy because the AI kept overwhelming me with numbers. I have decided that you need to have one or two shipyards turning out tiny ships just to keep your military rating up or the AIs will all jump on you. A peaceful victory seems impossible.
I thought the last patch made the AI made the AI scrap ships to balance its budget. In my current game the Kor are at -2000 credits to maintain a huge fleet. Does being in the red actually do anything to your empire?
I did bribe two other factions into declaring war on my enemy. They then just ignored him while he kept pounding on me.
Every time I've ever seen the UP end all wars proposal pass, the people fighting me just defy it. It seems to be a pretty useless proposal.
Is there a way to make peace with the AI, short of total extermination? I have conquered several planets and destroyed fleets of his ships and all I get is that I must be joking, when I talk to him. I am thinking about designing a cheap tiny ship I can crank out just to get my military rating up and see if that helps.
I just looked at the diplomacy screen and the terrans somehow have 200 ships to my 10. While somehow having better tech than me as well. Does the AI not have to pay maintenance on its ships?
It seems like no matter what I do, I always have the lowest military rating. Which always leads to the Drengin, Yor and others declaring war on me. Is the only way to get your rating to spam tiny ships, so you have several hundred of them?
What is the best way to make a warship? Just one type of weapon or all three? Just one type of defense or all three? I can see arguments for both ways.
