I've noticed this, too, but I can't say it's a big deal from my perspective. I'm just happy they included the "Import playlist" capability. RR

Eat 'em up! Yum! RR
I prefer to not know when someone else is building a Wonder or trade good, but I hate seeing all the production wasted. It would be nice to see at least a percentage of that work go towards something else; I'm not sure how that could be accomplished with the way the production queues are structured right now, though. RR
So would it be correct to say that planet quality affects production, but only indirectly? (That is, higher morale ==> quicker population growth ==> higher population ==> greater production.) RR
Yeah, and then everybody else died from a plague spread via unsanitized phones, so you'd better be careful. RR
Move your .m3u playslist file into the "Playlist" directory under Galciv. Works great for me. RR
In my games, all of the AI civilizations have been the team to beat at one time or another. I personally hate the Arceans, but in my last game I only beat the Yor because the Altarians and the Torians joined the war on my side. I had another game where the Torians really waxed the rest of us; the Drengins came to me begging for help, but I was already up to my eyeballs in Torian ships. Am I the only one who finds it amusing when the Drengin refer to a human as "monkey-boy?"<
You know, to me this thread is a terrific example of what make the game good, and I'm not just talking about a community of people who can discuss it without flaming each other. The OP asked a question about how the AI does something and the responses have varied all over the place from 100% military spending to 0% military, to leasing ships, to not leasing ships, to trading for techs, etc. And the cool thing is that they are *all valid strategies.* I've learned a ton just from reading these
Doh! I should have gotten that one. I've seen that movie at least two or three times. Thanks, RR
Re the Ceti Alpha V joke: I don't get it. I assumed it was a reference to a ST episode or something, but can someone explaing it to me? (I only saw two episodes of STTNG, and none of the other spin-offs.) RR
Well, Dearmad, let me be the first to . . . accuse you of cheating! That's right! There's no way I could do that, so there's no way you could either! The AI cheats! The AI cheats! What's that? You're not an AI? . . . . Never mind. RR
Destabilization is extremely useful in trying for cultural victories; anything that gets citizens of other civilizations disenchanted with their own government has a shot at bringing them over to my side. Also, I think the word "foomed" as used by Dearmad (I know, I know, it was a typo) should be given a meaning and used every day in conversation. It's just fun to say. Foomed, foomed, foomed. RR
Doh! :D RR
If building up a tremendous advantage in Diplomacy doesn't help your bargain negotiation skills, what does it do? Does it maybe help trade income or make it less likely that other civs will declare war or attempt to extort cash from you? RR
Well, I must be in the minority, but I didn't think the OP was all that hostile (although the "silence is deafening" remark maybe wasn't the wisest thing to add). The original poster asked for -- and got -- confirmation that the AI doesn't cheat, and that -- as my wife would say -- is a happy thing. It's hard to blame Brad for being a bit defensive, though, considering the wringer he and the staff have been through the last several days. Brad, you're doing a fine job here, and I hop
"I don't like that the AI instantly knows where all the yellow suns are. They should have to find them just like the players do." I agree; this is one of the few things about the game I think needs to be changed. RR
Yes, you can offer the poor souls ships, money, tech, or whatever from that screen. As soon as you select one or more items to offer, the message at the bottom changes to something like "We offer you these items as a gift." You can also trade them stuff instead if you like. Don't forget to hit the "Submit" button (or whatever it is called) in order to actually give them the stuff before you leave. RR
No way. Evil is, er, "badong." (For those of you who have seen "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist.") :D RR
I have run into several (minor) issues, some of which are probably due to my confusion as to the way things work. The only one I can remember right now has to do with trade routes. There were three or four times I received a message stating that due to the fighting near a particular trade route the companies that ran it were shutting it down; when I checked my trade routes, they were all still there and bringing in cash. I have also run into the issues with sector influenc
I saw it mentioned on both Gamespot and Tom's Hardware.
