I'd love to try this mod. Is there a way to get it without paying to join a service?

I am sure I heard them say in a dev stream experience was definitely coming in a patch or DL.
Actually 2 questions: 1) Can you use multiple MODs simultaneously? 2) Is there any place the MODs are being kept? Do we have a "MOD" site, Library, etc.?
Hereward, this looks great. I love variety. Lol, this will be the first MOD I've attempted to use.
Do trade modules only work on starbases affecting the actual trade planet? I built one on a starbase by one of my worlds along the trade route. The blue trade line clearly ran through it's zone of influence. When I checked the govern screen, there does not appear to be any change to route value. I can see the change when I add the module to the starbase of the world originating the route. Is this by design, or a bug? If it's by design, I have a problem. In GalCiv2, we could build "Tra
Thank you for the info Vidz. By the way, I read in a post about "UP research tech." Do we have to research down the diplomacy tree before we can join?
Wouldn't the simplest solution be to only receive information involving races you've encountered? I would think that might filter it for all concerned. After all, I don't care who's going to war on the far side of an Insane galaxy, lol. As you branch out in game, your knowledge base will naturally grow.
DLC wrong term? Patch...whichever.
Ok folks, I have to admit. I'm starting to get concerned. I have been playing since the week before release, sometime around May 10th. I have NEVER experienced a UP meeting. Now, I know I'm supposed to wait till I meet half the factions and I use over 40 factions. I've never met half. Today, I played a "soak" game. I also used "FOW," to meet everyone. Turn 180...NO UP at all. It doesn't exist. Am I doing something wrong? Does the UP not exist if you use ALL custom factions?&nb
I agree. I remember those updates. Even MOO2 had them. I hope they will return soon. Perhaps DLC?
Thank you for the tip Admiral. Mine is at balanced. How do I change it to high performance?
Dan, what exactly is a "soak" game. I know it's using the codes. Explain please, I'd like to see how my various choices effect the game.
Dan, thank you for the explanation. I will admit, some of it is over my head...but I follow most of what you say. I will check what my VM is. I imagine you know that without my checking. I checked... it reads "Total paging size file for all drive: 9216 MB" Is that what you expected? I don't really know what it means.
Mottikhan, I use CCleaner Free edition. I left the settings on "recommended," and noticed it includes a memory dump. Lol, I'm not particularly computer savvy, but I assumed that meant it would clean out the memory cache...if that even makes sense? Anyway, after 50 turns or so, I save the game and close it. Then I run CCleaner. It will take anywhere from 30-60 seconds to analyze, (less than 10 is a normal situation,) then around 20-30 to clean. When it's done, I start the game again an
By the way, I just thought of this...I have never played a game past turn 185. I always use 50 factions on an Insane map. The point is, I have not yet had a UP meeting. I was told I have to meet half the races to qualify. Could this have anything to do with it?
Dan, please clarify. You say my memory is fine, but you say you also have 8GB of ram and ONLY play smaller maps? Should I stop playing Insane maps? I don't know a lot about computers. Mine is quite new. I purchased it in February in anticipation of GalCiv3, lmao. It's speed is 3.2mhz, 8GB ram and 1TB(Terrabyte?) of space. As I said before, no problems so far. By the way, the CCleaner trick REALLY works. I can't overstate HOW much faster it runs when I do a quick clean ever
Echillion, I did submit a ticket. Should I message Derek as well? If so, how? Admiral, why do you say I should stay with huge? I never use less than Immense, and usually always Insane. I run 49 factions with between 200-300 planets. Never had any issues. No crashes. If I feel it starts to lag, I just save and close out. Then I run CCleaner and restart. Works every time. Am I facing issues down the road? I've never run past turn 185...just get bored and start a new game.
Dan, it reads Memory 1.9/8.0 GB (24%). Is that good? Lol, sorry...I'm not computer savvy.
Hi Dan. Yes, it happens every game. I only use Insane size maps and I am using 1.03, with no mods. .I don't know how to check my PC memory ATM? Not sure what that means. Also, when I hold the cursor over an alien world, the name is there. It's just not in the reports screen. How do I open a ticket?
Thank you Dan, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I know the option your talking about, The Abbydos system. It's the "burned out" class 2 planet choice. No, I'm referring to ANY race I run into. In the Diplomacy screen under report...it will show all information about that race EXCEPT home world. That always reads "None." It even reads "None" when I check the report on my own race. Now, I've created every one of these races. They all have normal Home Worlds. I've g
Can anyone explain why the report on an alien faction always reads "Home World: None?" I checked the report on my own race, and it also read NONE???? Does it mean something other than what I assume?
Thank you for the info Rhonin. That was a great thread to share.
Will there be a map editor? The single biggest reason I hit reset is positioning. Also, I really enjoyed making maps on GalCiv2.
Hey folks, I'm embarking on a bit of a quest. I want to make 4 high powered factions. I intend to play them at a higher level than the rest of the factions. I already put 15 factions at "Beginner" to simulate minor races. I give them minuses for their ratings, (especially the -25% borders trait,) and always place "expansionist" as their lowest choice. It really works. They seldom reach a second star system. Then, I set the main opponents to a higher setting. These are all the GalCiv2 &
I follow you. I wasn't trying to imply morale is meaningless. I like the suggestions, by the way. I could easily fall into the trap of making the same choices on the tree every time. The game, designed to be thoroughly re-playable, would lose a bit of that characteristic.
