Is a commander still somehow assigned to your own fleet when doing a "martyr" attack? Even if only pragmatic civs get to use that option I'm wondering if there could be rare occasions of two fleets plus commanders meeting eachother, deciding both to act as martyrs. Would that mean those two fleets take out eachother?
Well, this looks promising, but...and I hate to ask for this, but When will this little gem come out?
The only info out on this is that release will be in spring. When exactly we do not know yet.

I'd like it if the existing cinematic mode would be a tad more spectacular. It seems to be keen to shows explosions, which is fine, but they look all similar, regardless of hull size. Weapon types could use some variation too (where are those nice photon torps from GC 2 Ultimate?). And yes - cue "but it's not realistic" replies here - small/tiny fighter types rolling or turning like winged aircraft at least *sometimes* would be
Im a bit dubious about spys also, not espionage, just the spys. "Lets place this "Human" spy on this drengin world, they wont notice him!" Seems odd tbh.
Lol :) But hey, I have watched enough Star Trek to know that you just need to visit the Doc for a bit to completely alter your appearance ;) As for the dev diary - thanks for the comments about economy and spies.
-I don't like the specialization techs. I don't like how I can only pick one. However personally I don't have a huge prob with those specs, and the player can often trade for specs he did not pick.
Why do colony ships fill option start at 2.5 instead of the full 3?
At least in the way colony rush works now I find it much better to send way less ppl, like 0.5. Because early on I mainly want to grab planets so the AI can't, while not hampering the pop of my homeworld that cranks out those colony ships too much. So currently the option to decide how much guys are in the ship helps to out

Afaik: This stuff is in .bik videos (Bink 2 format). That is not real-time rendered, but pre-rendered into a vid format, then converted to .bik as this allows optimized compression (from what I know). edit: just had quick look into the files - file names end in .bk2 (not .bik - IIRC that was previously in GC 2)

I agree with a number of pts., like upgrading should be handled better IMO. Others I disagree with - I do like adjacency bonuses, for example Also:
Ships auto eject from shipyard when built. You can't store them for later. You have to deal with them before you can end your turn.
Why not set a rally pt. for that shipyard onto itself? Then you don't have to worry about this. Works for me. e

Using only 8 GB RAM myself - it *should* be enough to run the game fluidly (got a GTX 960 gfx card) - it does run fine for me. I do not play the most biggest map size though....

This sounds all extremely cool. Love the Drengin guy! :) One thing I'm wondering about is how games using various resource settings will play out in Crusade (that seems to go esp. for those interstellar resources needed for weapons, bigger ships).

Re editing appearances: it would be cool if there are some more color schemes included. Dunno how other players feel about it, but right now I think there are so much shiny, very bright, high contrast color combinations, but not enough toned down or even darkish themes (like ocean, bloodstone etc. - which are quite cool IMO but too rare).

I'm preparing a small update for the next days. The main reason is that one of the recent aliens didn't work well in all screens - if you set this up as your own civ it's too much down in certain reports. Also I made aspecific BG for it, as the vanilla GC pics did not fit IMO. The pic below shows the new BG: Other than that I'l

What to do with the money: Throw the galaxy into war by bribing the AI into attacking eachother ;) But yeah, even this is only fun to a certain point...

Got 10 as free upgrade last year. Generally it runs fine, if it only would not look so ugly... (otoh lead me to get WindowBlinds - good for Stardock I suppose)

Never knew there is such a thing as a favored civ. But otoh maybe it's just any civ you explicitly declare friendship to? That's just a guess, but declaring friendship does improve relations a tad, so maybe the penalty in case of war is the ther side of the coin (if there's no downside, then you could just declare friendship to everyone). That being said of course it would be better if stuff like this would be displayed...

Noone jumped on that screenie that is showing the resource bar on top? It seems there is a "food" resource? I mean there's a small symbol looking like a green apple, what else would that be....

I mean when I go into the game, select a civ from the menu, then "edit race", and want to enter custom descriptions, leader names etc. When typing the text into those windows my "spaces" are somehow lost? So instead of "The XYZ are an evil and warlike species" I get something like "TheXYZareanevilandwarlikespecies". It does not happen always, but quite often. When I mouse-click into this kind of "multiword-chain", I can put in spaces manually again, but often when typi
