Playing as the Altarians it is pretty dang awesome though... hehehheh

Currently the only way to effectively deal with minors is the Benevolent Ideology that makes starbases flip if they are in you ZOC... went from no resources mined to lots and lots...
I usually liked the dagger event because it was a very easy conquest victory once I wiped them out.....
I would prefer if the planet map actually showed the special traits of the planet on top with the Planet name. Say I go and colonize Avalon. Avalon is a ghost planet with 50% increased research. this shows up in the planet production list... but it is not obvious and you have to look for it. Make stuff like that obvious.
I miss the PeaceKeepers/Crimson Dagger.... they stole everyone's planets and tech and basically made the game interesting depending on what they stole from whom. The Galactic Plague was also an interesting challenge depending on when it fell.
Unused MA points are transferred to the next item as of the current patch. I've tested with several different scenarios and it always transfers to the next single item. It does not allow building of more than one item in a turn however so if the overflow would build two cheap items you do get some waste.
Yes! There is so much more they could do with minor races. I would love to be able to broker with them to have them sell me ships or technology in exchange for defense.... or have them supply tourism or trade options that do not exist elsewhere. or hire them as mercenaries to harass other races... so much more you can do with them than what is currently in the game.
waaaaaait...
Something needs to be done if the devs don't want minors to be instant automatic targets every single game.
I thought Minor race was synonymous with "GOOD PLANET COME INVADE"
They just need to teach the AI to make use of it. It rewards players for investing in their infrastructure. it also makes the fleets that have said ships more valuable and encourages strategic planning. I love them.
This is again another reason to untie Ideology from colonization effects and to balance the results based on map size. Influence barely does anything now on huge or larger maps. but on small and medium maps it is over powered. I second the vote to remove the "you are so evil your planets don't flip" with a "your plantets gain 2x more resistance to culture flips. Don't make them immune..
I've been thinking about this some more. Lets move outsisde 4x games for a moment. In World of Warcraft... how ridiculous would it be if people insisted that the main tank also be the hightest dps and also the best healer? (ok yes Pally's are broken but shush) In Knights of the Old Republic we were given a choice of Jedi Sentinel, Jedi, Counselor, and some other one that I currently forget... In these games the specializations a
the deep maroon color is the thing I find the most annoying about Minor races.... I can't see their ships on the star map.
Well I wish I knew what I did to fix it. It just worked yesterday morning.
Which is all great... until you get into a war and have the AI player move their ships into combat and have ten combat popups happen in a row and then the game hangs. So far i have yet to have the game make it past 6 simultaneous events without a hang and while my system specs are not astronomical... they are not bad AMD A10- 7850K 16G ddr-1800 ram r9-280 GPU 60G ssd dedicated cache drive. So I suspec
To add to my two cents.... from a post back in february I wrote this: There is something to be said for the strat of gaming the game... but how about a cool middle ground... Velcro, Penicillin, Post it notes, Vulcanized Rubber, x-ray film, Superglue, LEDs, Teflon, and many many other things were all discovered on accident. I understand that it is way to late to make massive changes to the game, but I would really like
So I know part of the process to allow the game to go faster is that ships and events are expected to be moving and happening simultaneously. However, Currently this is the biggest cause of lockups or crashes for me. If I end the turn, and have say two colony ships arrive, two ships get attacked, and the UP meeting start... all of the popups happen right away and about half the time the game freezes or stops before it resolves the action. I
Any of the buildings that supply "points" for the ideology trees cannot be removed. This is to prevent farming of points.
My two cents I think on areas like the colonization focus ones they should make it be like GCII where you had one bubble but part one part two and then part three. But for other areas where you can see something being more mutually exclusive.. like More powerful engines/Cheaper Engines/Smaller engines... those are sorta mutually exclusive. I would have no problem if the choice locked out the other choices.. SO LONG as the ch
Not sure why but this worked this morning..... oddness. I even rebooted yesterday to see if that would fix it so no clue here.
I also think the OP misunderstands the entire category of 4x games eXplore eXpand eXploit eXterminate .... sorta says it right in the game type.
So since getting 5.3 I have played the Humans and the Alterian and both races experience a crash to desktop when the initial UP Leader vote comes up. I have submitted a support tkt, but has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on how to get past it?
Honestly what they need is to make Assembly automatically shut off when you reach 100% of your population cap. The Yor are machines, they should not be able to "overpopulate" a planet. it should also scale differently so that it is not crazy fast once they have a fair amount of production.
The discussion about how some players build Sensor Ships got me to thinking. I am not sure how the AI determines the value of a ship. But One of the things that I would love to see is that any ship design that a Player makes, be saved as an AI template ship. If I play Race X and build a sweet carrier support ship in game 1 I would expect that the AI playing Race X in game 2 might be able to use that design to come and
Hrm... I hope they set the fighters to use the best available tech... not simply the best available Laser/shield combo. This seems like a rather odd thing to have it only building off of the one.... Back in Patch 4 when Lazers were god mode it made sense... now, not so much.
The growth techs are still targeting the assembly project which was removed from the game... I want the assembly back. I find the "fast assembly" to be more tedious and even if you have more control with it, early in the game it really slows things down to build up population.. wheras the assembly project allowed your assembled population to give you a production growth curve as your population increased. </p
