storm trooper level aim...

Bug: So I'm here to report that my entire fleet, starbase and interceptors, very suddenly, cannot aim for shit.

Background: I'm not doing so well vs the altariens; they are sending 1 ship fleets (100 damage ships) but I'm fighting with superior numbers plus a support ship at a starbase so I can afford the trades alright. I trade for carrier tech and everything goes to crap in 5 turns (no attack meanwhile). All of a sudden I miss every shot my fleet takes, and this is now with more base ships, and interceptors from a new support ship and the starbase itself. I've tried splitting up my ships away from the starbase and support ones, but they still all shoot like storm troopers. The enemy ship in question has nothing to suggest it can evade better than normal; no special components (including thrusters/tactical speed) and no enemy starbase in the area.

I'm assuming this is a bug of some sort, because no matter how many upgrades you do get you should never be able to evade 100% of the shots. Anyone else run into this?

There's a bug with the Altarian Inherent Magic tech that gives them 1000% evasion and accuracy instead of 10%. This is fixed in Beta 6.

Yes that will be why, when I spotted that fix in the Beta 6 notes I thought ouch, so no one can beat the Alterian's in space combat once they have that then until Beta 6 comes out.

You could always buy it off them, I suppose. Then you'd be even.

Playing as the Altarians it is pretty dang awesome though... hehehheh

Imagine how long a battle you can have between two factions who both have the +1000% evasion tech  :grin: .
