Was this posted onto Youtube or will it have to wait until Monday?
I hope not! Been working all week and saturday patiently waiting for this to be put on youtube! I will not be amused if we have to wait till monday! (again!)
Its based in the 23rd century not the 13th....lol
Precursor libraries used to give a 700% bonus as did precursor mines if memories serve? so why would you reduce it by ten times the amount? just curious?
Great video, shame about the sound at the beginning but hey thats life I cant wait to try this out [e digicons][/e]
But why show us it can be done if its just for show? I personally would like to be able to take on more than 8 or 9 opponents! perhaps its just me?
Looks like everythings coming together [e digicons][/e]
Heres one for the event list: A corrupt corporation has been selling engines that they know will fail at some point? All the ships built on that world/shipyard that have that engine type will have random engine failures ranging from engine cutouts that set the ship adrift in space so you have to send out a rescue ship? to catastrophic engine explosions which blow the ship up? The corporation concerned has been seized and shutdown and its boardmembers prosecuted and imprisoned/executed
Perhaps someone should ask Derek Paxton? (who did the 100 player game as a demonstration) what amount of ram he is running on his machine it might be enlightening for us? (especially me as I'll then know what comp to buy?)
Planetary colonisation use to give you bonuses especially finding the disintigrating disruptor rifle factory on planet and the lucky ranger and precursor corvettes and rangers use to spawn from former precursor worlds that you have colonised. The ranger spawn was sometimes a game changer/breaker as it could wipe entire navies off the map!
Hello para50, The reason for mining resources is to give your empire/side bonuses to skills/atttributes and boosts to production/manufacturing/wealth creation.I dont play GC3 yet but have played alot of GC2 and their addons. In GC2 you'd have to research "planetary invasion" to get access to a ship called a "Transport" you could then build build them at your shipyard and load them up with troops (drawn from your population) then once you've destroyed all the ships in orbit you
Sentry = stay where you are unless any ship comes near or past you Guard = stay where you are till a enemy ship comes near or past you [e digicons];P[/e] ST:Armada had green, yellow and red alerts along with patrol, defend, standby, attack modes so you could adjust either indiidual ships or affect whole fleets.
Good news thanks [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e]
Anyway back on topic... Having the ability to have 100 opponents ingame means you could have different cannons fighting eachother like B5 vs Star trek vs SG vs warhammer etc,etc..basically get the franchise encyclapedias out and go mad and create every race!
i never got TA [e digicons]:([/e] i guess that's where these things are. What did the targeting computers and zone of control modules do?
Stella Avenger size 5 gave 20% bonus to damage in your own areas and the defender gave a 20% bonus to defences, whereas the xalax (xdm) size variable with hull size) gave a fleet a 25% defence bonus over the whole map and the zalax (ZDM) would give a 30% defenc
We have this in GC2 I imagine their gonna do something similar in GC3 otherwise its gonna be a royal pain?
Can I start the game with custom ships?
I would imagine that they will be putting in custom ship styles in with custom races like GC2 so that you can?
We'll just have to wait and see but considering mining resources use to be empire wide bonuses I dont see why they still cant be empire wide? the only problem I forsee is if you have ships that depend on having access to certain resources what happens to your ships if your mining base gets blown away? do they revert to non-bonused forms or just simply self destruct?
You wanna what? [e digicons]:omg:[/e] [e digicons]XO[/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]:borg:[/e] Delete/scuttle them upon starting game! [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] [e digicons]:-"[/e]

Yes we can detect planets by their shadow across their sun/star but we have no way of knowing if their inhabital or not and current RL tech means even with unmanned craft it would take hundreds if not thousands of years for a probe to get there let alone its transmission time back to earth? That said this is a game and wheres the fun in knowing where everything is? (this is why I dont research stellar cartography unless I reall
Quoting Echelion, reply 2 I dont know what their gonna do in GC3 but in GC2 you could click on a enemy fleet/ship in your sensor range (visible on screen but not docked on enemy planet) and it would bring up a fleet screen with what ships are in the fleets and you could click on a individual
