- Rework ground invasion. The current system is a step in the right direction, but stuck halfway (or rather, a tenth of the way) there. I wrote a ground invasion simulation some months ago that I posted here with how I imagine the current system could be enhanced, but not very many people were interested at that time, or at least didn't bother to comment on my proposal. Anyway, there is much room to improve in that area
Brad, I have to ask, Why isn't this GalCiv IV? You would have saved yourself a lot of grief, especially in the reviews. Players (to some extent including me though I left a good review) are upset about changes to a game that they know. They wouldn't leave a bad review because GC4 is a different game; one would expect it to be different. And you would have preserved the existing GC3 review base. Conversely, issuing a new game wou

Earth has been freed!! for good or ill. I should get a medal for it. The key to this victory was the Iridian ships, and I got them totally by accident. I accidentally clicked the first (huge) ship and noticed that it didn't queer the pending deal. I kept asking for ships until I got all the fast ones. Those two powerful fleets made the end game much easier. Without them and with 1st Fleet down to only three ships, I'm not sure I could have
Recent patches have completely changed how the economy works,
Are we going to remain in the dark about all this? If I have anything against the newer GCs, it's that the player has next to no clue about how the universe works. Hard choices I don't mind. Pissing into the dark and hoping, I do.

While it doesn't relate to this report directly, I will note that I had a similar occurrence recently, where my Administrators suddenly jumped from zero to -3. Yes, there a bug in there somewhere.

I'd say that it depends on from which angle one is making one's evaluation. Winston Churchill ??

Perhaps surprising to some, people that work and are comfortable around each other often joke like that. So far they've been good about keeping it real.

Publius, the Alliance option finally showed up. The Iridian was so happy that I offered him a Research Treaty that he traded me all this techs and the cream of his fleet - two huge Capitals and five large Escorts. That should help a LOT.

Well, this is screwy. Ramboing's post is marked as in the Ashes forum, but this thread is in the GCIII forum. Also, I don't recognize the scenario he describes.
Boy, I just finished #2 contingency, and it's a bit soul crushing having your ally just expand influence across the entire map.
Working on Scenario 3 I've manage to take the first two Drengin colonies, though the loss in ships has been a concern. I'm corresponding now with Altarians, Iridians, and Krynn. All are 'Close'. I traded for Interstellar Alliances and want to ally in the hopes of getting some help. The problem is, the Alliance option remains greyed out. Is it dependent on something besides relationship and tech?

I've met Nichelle Nichols. Very attractive woman. Word is that she and Roddenberry were doing the nasty at the time and that had a lot to do with her casting. The same can be said of Majel Barrett, who never did excite me. I really did like her in her later, more effusive roles, though, especially as Troi's mum.
DMF: ST:D is set ten years before TOS . It has Pike, Kirk, Spock etc. around the same period. It even has Sarek in the pilot and has retconned Michael as Spock's adoptive sister that Sarek feels emotional over. It is a total retconning for those of us who grew up on TOS.
Well shoot!
Thing is, I recall more than 3 episodes being aired here in Oz. As I remember, it aired for around 3 months and we got around 12 - 13 episodes, but that may have been due to the channel here purchasing the entire [filmed] series.
Likely. After all, only 6(?) Firefly eps were broadcast here, at least on the original schedule, though Fox paid for 13(?).
I use research to focus weapons and armor.
Unfortunately, that doesn't work for defense. For the non-balanced types, the Designers seems to choose one defense type at the beginning and stick to it come hell or high water. Might be appropriate, might not. The AIs seem similarly fixated, though at least they spread their defenses around. The player is offered 12+ ships - all with Shield only

In 1979 he was cast as the Frankenstein monster in the CBS sitcom Struck by Lightning , but the show was cancelled after only three episodes. No wonder I never saw it. Jack was all over TV and movie westerns, usually as a badman. One of my favorite roles was the opening of Once Upon A Time In The West , where he has a low key gunfight with a fly before getting killed by Char

No, it's actor Jack Elam who famously played a proctologist in the movies. Any chance you mean Fred Gwynne, who played Herman Munster in the '60 sitcom? He also co-starred in the sitcom the theme song of which I use as my ring tone, Car 54 Where Are You?
