So far in Base 2.3.3 (Huge) and 2.5 (Huge?) I haven't seen any decay at all, even from 150 hexes away.

Awesome designs. I really like #1. Amazing where inspiration will come from. A nut. Please say that these are usable in the base game?? I have a synthetic race that could use unique ship designs (and some better images).
Unless the pirates get it first.
CantEatJustOne, I don't see the errors. My hardware is ancient compared to yours, but I can't see 1) and 2) being hardware-related. Have you verified your files?
I'm playing past game victory. I want to try a few things, like the console. Will cheating affect the status of the victory (i.e. the Metaverse reject it)? How about playing a game with -cheat enabled, but not cheating?
Is that one of the big ones? I expect to see a space pirate base!
You might even see the price go UP since Apple will be unable to keep up with demand. Get your hands on one for $1000 and sell it to some anxious type with money for $2000. Such is the way of the world.
As the benighted mongoose says, hex grids are far superior to Cartesian grids - philosophically, at least. I do miss the keypad movement; it allows much easier fine control and my mouse hand gets so tired. I'm still undecided about the Designer. Now that I've discovered middle-button rotation, it's not the disaster I first thought. A couple of issues, though: * Tool tips on the category t
I play pretty epic games so just starting over is not an option for me since I was about 6 hours into this game before the error popped up and I'm not spending 6 hours to run into another game-ending bug.
If I understand correctly, there's no way around this. Each game sucks up it's "starting context" into the save file and thereafter pays no attention to other files.
This sounds like it could be some weird hold-over from Spore ship technology. Are there such things in GC III?
Durantium Refinery (?) is still there, but it's expensive. Haven't seen any Thulium at all.
So you just throw a Shipyard into the queue first and hope that it's free?
now Constructors just build starbases,
No, constructors can still build Shipyards in the base game. I built a multi-point Ctor, but haven't tried it yet. I do see that SB improvements take credits...
How does this "free improvement" bonus work? Sometimes the first thing I put in the queue gets rushed; sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes a later one does; sometimes it doesn't. Which ones are eligible and when?
I tried that. They tell me I'm not producing enough food. Ooops. I see that the food surplus has fallen below 4. One of the Cities must have gone through. And now I have to worry about Approval. Isn't there a selective taxation level?
Upgrade has made some big changes to how the (base) game works. Should we expect a new manual taking these into account? Maybe a "downrated" Crusade manual?
Okay, I have accumulated Food. Now how do I use it on low-food worlds? If I can't use it there, what is it food good for? [Freudian slip??]
Cool. Thanks Brad. Uhh.. do I still need the downloaded OBJ file? (Never used the workshop, generally detesting hunting snipe on Steam.)
If that's true, I don't like it. But so far there are several things I don't like about GCIII 2.5. More as I play more.
So when do my new planets get Zones of Control? I can't build a mine on an adjacent asteroid (yet).
Thought it more efficient to start single tread for these small questions rather than one per. I find it more efficient to improve starbases bypassing the automatic system and using Constructors with two or three construction modules. You can usually build one in the same time it takes to build the base one-point ship. * If one builds a Shipyard with one of these multi-point Constructors, what happens to the extra points? They just go away? * Is the
Yah, I'm having operator shock on 2.5 too, so I can't answer your questions. Crusaders will have to do that. But I will be watching for replies. Welcome back to outer space.
pshaw has said that Stardock is looking into this. No word yet.
This is just personal preference. I would love to have the Auto upgrade of buildings be 'off' by default. Can we at least put a setting in 'setup' to have auto upgrade all planets (on or off) at game creation?
I agree. Inevitably, I have to got through each world and turn the Auto Upgrade => Off manually.
