I posted on a post awhile back about my ideas for Galactic civilizations 3. You would probably like some of my ideas for tech research.
There were not trees.
Programmable map size love it I would like to max out my virtual don't forget to include it in the editor and the modding capabolity of the game. I would play with my virtual memory maxed out, and make this map as big as possible until it doesn't work anymore. Then I would shrink it down a size. Please give me the option of including major races or colonizing minor races to make up for this. This would at least prevent species from having to few of planets.
Lets not forget about all the other sources of Ice in the solar system. Their is about ten times more ice than there is rock. Also gas giants can have water ours do. The above is an ecample for an Aquatic race, but a Terran species would not use as much water. A species from a toxic world would not use water water, but maybe other inert gases from a gass giant. Going off our own solar system with Jupiter and Saturn being class 0 instead of heavy gravity worlds. There may be other examples.</p
Thinking internet to improve my experience I'm game why not. After playing distant worlds I've found at least one problem with the private sector. I think it is as unrealistic with it's research as with the game. Is how the research has been done. In our world you have both government and indepenhadent research. Where in Galactic civilizations there is only federal research; where in distant worlds there is only private research. In distant worlds you have almost no contro
It is really hard to qoute multiple quotes, so I had to post a lot of quotes in a row. It would've been easier if I could have summed up the quotes, and deleted the other quotes after this was done. Because I have to work sometimes it took me days to go through some of these quotes and posts.
I would be able to adjust to this change in game mechanics, but I can't say I would prefer not have to test my weapons before I can research them. This probably not make much of a difference to me since I don't research weapons before I have to. I hope that their would at least be a reasonable amount of weapons before I couldn't research further. Have you checked out that post on slow tech researching. This sounds like a similar mindset. I would rather this as an option to the gam
I think both Galactic civilizations and civilizations are good games.
[quote who="rnichter" reply="43" id="3422469"] As a long time player of all 4x games I need to say, I would KILL for an "option" to directly mod the scripts and size options for creating maps. It seems that the map sizes and/or scripts for building the maps are always hard coded. What happens is that 2, (ect) years after the game is released the next generation gamming system comes out that is 2-4x more powerful then the previous, yet you have no option to actually
I think the Ai should also involve tech research and how it builds planetary improvements. I think that this should still allow for the game to function without the internet. Only downloading a new Ai when you want to. The game should be able to download a new Ai from the internet upon request.I would like the ability to download this into my computer for single player and hotseat games. I would like to see only the best not just all the posted designs on the game. Since these ships will actu
After tough I would like to see the Ai play harder instead of getting a better economy by default instead of you on the the higher levels with advanced algorithms. Other wise it feels like the game is cheating instead of getting harder.
Today I killed two giants with a 7th level wood elf on Skyrim behind a rock. My concentrations are sneaking, heavy armor, and one handed fighting. I had fine imperial equipment. A nordic bow with Iron arrows. My game had no cheats. I wasn't part of any guild. This was at the Giant camp.
On Skyrim the Breten is the class. He wasn't part of a guild. He more or less went about randomly doing things. He did it with an elfin bow. What he did he got close enough to the giant to shoot an elfin bow at him and then he would run until the giant quit pursuing him, and then he attacked him with the bow. Until he got in the tower where your suppose to meet Yarl's dragon. The dragon wasn't there. I on the other hand ran across a giant at level 7 today. I had a wood elf w
Thank you in the future I will try to be more descriptive with the name of the post. If someone no's what the malware programs are I sure would appreciate knowing them since there are a lot of good free programs out there, so I thought it would be nice to share this on the Galactic civilizations forums so you people wouldn't have to go through what I did. It appears I have solved the problem. My computer is a dell, so that might be the problem. If that was the problem then I would hav
I think what you mean is that you would like the battles to look better, or at least more 3d looking. The way that research is suggested on this post I don't like; except, the tech eras. This could be a way that the game designers could use to make the Ai to research feaseable techs at a certain level. Like for instance lets say one era you are required to research one of your combat weapons and a first level economic tech and other stuff. Maybe one era could require you to research
Well I've kind of followed some things since 2007. In the manual of Dark avatar expansion they explained that they were based on a game from 1994, and a few other games. Looking at Sins of a solar empire you can tell that they do a lot of borrowing of concepts. I wouldn't call that a spoier. I'm assumng that the Altarians and the Humans are connected somehow. I would like to know how. Here's an idea the Altarians were the Homo Heldeberg captured by the dread lords and transpor
Oh I'm not saying that it is the stardock website. I'm talking about the Cyberlink products. This is not an attempt to trash Stardoc. I'm trying to warn everyone to star away from Cyberlink the company of software. If Cyberlink is part of Stardock please fill me in, but if you have the solution please fill me in.
I would like to add that the battle screen needs to look a lot better and more three dimensional.
Well I would say that even though there are no tactical combat that doesn't mean that you can't improve the combat screen, or some of the mechanics.
I wouldn't mind handing my trade over to the private sector. I wouldn't mind seeing imigration from other species. I can see a private sector of research. This is at least a realistic approach to a more realistic game. Not sure how this would change the game mechanics any more than giving the governors more automating options to change. This is an idea that sounds good.
[quote who="UnleashedElf" reply="25" id="3420745"] Quoting yarodin, reply 24 That's logic, but would give the Yor a too much an advantage during colony rush. They could settle every world in reach where as all the others would have to pick the worlds that are suitable for them. Either the Yor would must have another disadvantage during that phase (slow population growth or something like that) or they can not colonize every type of world - eg. radiation types becaus
This morning I saw a 6th level Breton take out 3 giants and a mammoth on Skyrim.
