Agreed. You should only be able to take over a planet if you have the technology to survive there.
cloaking could work. Maybe the cloaked fleet would not be able to do anything for a number of turns after they de-cloak. Maybe a cloaked fleet would have a big speed penalty, stuff like that. I would like a larger tech tree as well. And I don't really like the tech ages, they seem completely arbitrary to me.
I agree, in those terms GC3 fits closer to an alpha
Have you played many alphas? With a typical alpha you're lucky to even get completed graphics. GC3 is definitely a beta.
My thoughts: Carriers should have unique carrier fighter and bomber modules. These small ships would be separate and different from designed tiny hull craft. The fighters would attack tiny, small, and medium hulled ships with the bombers attacking large and huge. Large and huge ships would have poor defense against these fast, small ships "their ships are evading our turbo lasers!", and would rely on small craft to protect them. Large and Huge ships should engage in lo
Will we eventually see a galaxy map button showing all races starting positions if I want, like in GC2? And how about the graphs, timelines and charts? Thanks.

It is very good and it bears looking at more than once, which is important. This is on a par with the planet detailing and other polish that brings the whole game up several levels as an experience. Please, more art. Much more art. I know it takes up lots of space. I just got m
I never did like the time limits on treaties in Civ 5. It either creates the micromanagement of periodically renewing them, or the artificiality of the impossibility of a treaty backstab. I'd rather the AI just generally be more likely to honor treaties with parties it otherwise has good relations with. Or create a 'cease fire' treaty that is a prerequisite to the peace treaty, that is easier to break. [

Is anyone having that problem...?
Just a question for you history buffs, what was the primary function of the planes on a carrier?
...or it would be cool if they hit the target, stopped for a second, then went out the other side, like they were burning through the hull.
I don't mind the length but the effect is much to large/bright compared to the size of the ships. I'd like to see this effect tuned way down. The beams should also stop when they hit a ship, instead of going through it. Like star trek phasers.
it sounds like a combination of capital ships not being able to split fire between targets
Ships with multiple weapons should definitely be able to target more than one ship.
How does immense maps in GC3 compare to GC2? It seems like the GC2 maps were bigger.
I like the look of the graphics very much.
