Good day, The ship designer feels very limiting to me in its current form. I know that we don't have a bunch of community mods to add things, however basic 3d shapes seem absent. I can't find spheres, rectangles, donuts, cones, cylinders ect. The existing parts all look ok, but very limiting as they are all like a part of an existing design that really only works at a particular orientation and scale. - Am I missing something?

No content for modern monitors. Everyone making new themes on wincustomize apparently lives in 2009. No 1440p content, no 4k content no ultrawidewcreen content. So if you're using a modern higher res display, all you get is a blurry mess.
Do yourself a huge favor and avoid like the plague ANY 3D printer that requires proprietary cartridges/filament . There are many amazing and reasonably priced printers out there that can use any of the many brands of filament, but many new start ups are trying to lock you in to buying their filament. Not only does this mean you will pay more for your consumables (anywhere from 50% to 200% more), but it locks you out of many of the new innovations in printable
We were teased with the 3d printed ships back in Jun 2014. Anyone hear of an ETA?
Makes me not want to even try playing anymore, these crashes LOCK my entire system...something no other software has ever done since moving to Win8. Theres some serious gremlins running about. I can usually play for 20 min or so, then out of nowhere I get a black screen and it shuts off video output (sometimes I can still hear the music, other times not, but my monitors go into sleep mode. I have completely updated Direct X and Geforce drivers. Since the 1st patch, m
The save/load function is a bit nackered at the moment, it works but there do seem to be some quirks. I find that saves dont chow up if I save but dont take another turn after the save.
As a long time Galciv (and Stardock in general) fan I was very excited when Galciv 3 started coming together. When watching one of the dev streams they said we would be able to export ship models to 3d print them. This is just awesome to hear, but I have no idea if its planned for beta 2 beta 3 release or what. Anyone have any idea when the plan is to enable this feature?
Well crap...thats it...now I can't enjoy the game, theres and obvious mistake in the texture matching and someone didnt use the photoshop heal brush. I am so glad we have people who can point these issues out so I don't end up enjoying a game with such obvious flaws. I did notice one other little thing...100' castles don't move like that...they got the physics all wrong ;)
After 3+ hours of updating driveres that were working fine for every other application/game, I still cant even get this thing to launch. Read through all the forum posts, dont have some wierd firewall, or quickcam driver etc. Still 100% fail. I cannot express how disapointed I am that Stardock, and GPG have released this in its current state. I should have read these forums 1st, cause it seems that getting the game to run is just the 1st of many battle
Lastly, you may say that you didn't like ascendancy, but saying it's a "crappy" game is pushing it. I liked it... for the atmosphere Whoah...you must have been young, gullable or both when ascendancy came out. Just for the sake of my sanity...and because I loave denegrating this crapy excuse for a game at every oportunity as a kind of repayment for my wasted $39.99 @ eb games. Ascendancy, the game that let your h
After over a decade of complaining when a game has space lanes, I have come the the conclusion that I have been wrong all these years. I used to complain because I felt the space lanes thing restricted movement in an unrealistic way, and I was dead set against them. I think I may have been put off becasue so many crappy games had them (like ascendancy), and my favorite space game MOO didn't. I now realize that for the most part, these restrictions are not on
Now if only Stardock could get the rights to Spore, DCS Black Shark and a few other games I want to play in between GalCiv sessions without infecting my system with burdensome DRM Why is it that no other publishers "get it" ?
There have been some pretty sickening reports on Mass Effect protection schemes, and it looks more and more like I will be passing on Spore...sucks, but Im not paying money to deal with the issues Ive read about from reputable sources.
Why isnt it listed with all the other stardock games? I show build 167 / 254.524
I didnt buy Bioshock because of DRM, I didnt buy Mass Effect because of DRM, and it pains me greatly, but I will pass on Spore as well if it has this draconian DRM. I don;t mind paying for my games, but I will not be treated so poorly by any company who preports to want my business. EA wants to comment, they can call me at (347)Bug-Mike Mike James
Ive been using object dock for a few years now, and while I use the tray draws tabs for keeping my desktop clean, I find the best part of the program is making a dock on the bottom that holds website links. I have them 'zoom' bigger as I scroll through them and create a little 200x200 pic for each website. I have about 40 of my fav websites right at my fingertips...and it just looks cool
Its not that Im offended, I actually find it amusing when such things go unnoticed. When you label you ship parts, be sure you don't let the taskbar obscure part of the work cockpit...funny...but not good.
I am happy you were able to get out an prepubescent sillyness worked out away from the Stardock community. Thank you ;)
A little off topic here, but, does anyone know how to play MoO2 on Windows XP?
I haven't tried this myself, but maybe DOSBOX? It was dos wasn't it?
One of the big hurdles is that some of the upgrade paths are less than clear. For the new player there are so many tabs and options to upgrade things...and you keep getting errors need more research, but the research is spread across many different screens. You have Cultural vs Military vs Logistics Once you get the hang of it, everything makes sense, but it isn't very intuitive at times. Its especially confusing that new ship types are mixed right in tehre with weapon upgra
Why this comes up every month or so for every space game is beyond me, but lets go through this again :D When you play a game on your 2D monitor, adding the 3rd dimension creates many more gameplay issues than it could ever hope to solve. Considering that there is no inherent advantage to being 'above' or 'below' someone in space, there is no real benefit to moving up and down except to get out of the way or get a clear shot past an obstical...which the game does for you. T
OK...they got it fixed now..whew :D
Hope they fix this quick....most people just look at the score and never read the review!
