bug? 1.50, when another race surrenders to you, the assets you get (ships & starbases) remain in their color instead of changing to yours. apparently shipyards do change color tho.. Also, when exploring an anomaly with their surrendered survey ship, it procs the "first anomaly discovered" cinematic cut scene again. Also, apparently I can't park a ship at one of the surrendered planets. cheers :) cheers

If you go to right hand side of the UI and in that block on the far right are 'notifications' you should see a note saying 'Your war with the Altarians has ended", however.... The reason why it ended without any input from you is likely there was a vote passed in the United Planets to End all war OR the faction in question got the trait/perk which keeps an
Have a game where I apparently suddenly am no longer at war with another race (which is annoying since it was going well for me). The thing is, I have no idea why the war was called off. The only thing that I can guess is that maybe wars can only last 50 turns? (it was about 50-turns long), or else the war-cancelling ideology was researched by them. In any event, when a war is cancelled - is there some notification or other way for the player to see why it e
I'm mainly a fan of RPGs, progression, customization, long games, and all that stuff. The reason I ask about this game is because I have had very few experiences with turn based games. I didn't really play all the turn based RPGs when I was a kid, and I'd say I'm relatively new to all this stuff to be honest. Money is not an issue, I did download the demo though, gonna check it out later. <br
ditto: ty guys.
Thanks for the head's-up, I hadn't heard of this one... Firefly is too quirky to have the mass appeal for it to be a regular Fox show, but Fox also didn't want to sell it to the SciFi channel or anyone else either. The way that Newscorp works is that they screw everyone in the end - Firefly was no exception..
my best advice to see if you will like this type of game is down load the galciv 2 demo from the link below and spend some time with it game play is almost the same https://www.galciv2.com/Downloads.aspx
I'll 2nd this recommendation. For the notifications list in the right-hand side of the screen, could there be a way to prioritize (ie not bury) the red and yellow notifications? I'd prefer to see "snathi declares war on Iconians" than "factory completed on planet xyz". I think I miss a lot of actually important notifications because they get buried ... cheers
Wasn't there a Sins DLC with, like more interesting worlds or something? How did that work with MP?

When using the colony management screen (from "govern" --> "colonies") if you sort the list by one of the variables (ie rank by production, approval, population, etc) then click through to one of the colonies then close the colony to return to the colony management screen, the list no longer lists the colonies in the order you had just ranked them by. This is really annoying if you're trying to, for example, list all of your colonies by approval, go through the list of low approv

Interesting ideas. Hiding /inside/ nebulas is currently a thing, no? One of the draw backs that I see is that this game isn't supposed to be about a lot of tactical micromanagement, but rather more about the big picture. So the whole line-of-sight thing would really alter the tenner of the game. I personally wouldn't make much use of it, since I'm lazy and care more about long term macro, but I could probably see myself getting continually
Korath spores in GC2 were very OP. It was too easy to rush research spore modules and sit here enemy homeworlds with colony ships and then upgrade them to spore ships and catch the enemy unaware and soon have a couple new HW's greatly adding to your starting power and also your influence while crippling the AIs you attacked. I hope to not see spore modules in GC3.
Yea, they were cheesy, but t
Suggestion: Display the name of the alien/race/leader on the diplomacy screen when they contact you. Only seeing a picture is sometimes unhelpful especially with lots of custom races. Also displaying their coat-of-arms/icons would be great too. cheers
Been building loads of custom races and copy/changes of the default ones too. No issues here on my end with crashes. Only thing i can suggest is making sure that you have your custom images in the correct size/format. Can also check to make sure that the 'my games' folder is accessible by the game in permissions.
No, it's just if you click 'done' without selecting anything..
I really did like the spore module that the Koranth Clan had in GC2.. I always felt like that was the most fun race to play if I just felt like being a jerk...
How easy would it be to drop in a color randomizer for the Custom Race icons? (ie the little coat-of-arms insignia type thing). Similar to the ship randomization scheme, but a lot simpler. For example, you can just hit the Altarian coat of arms, and hit a 'randomize color' button a few times so that it looks unique (like orange or something instead of light blue). It was my impression that drop-in randomized races was a back-burner goal anyway, but
Haven't played for a while, so been plugging around on a couple of 'gifted' AI games. Have to say the pirate nerf to sensor range = 2 was a really nice tweak to make pirates a whole lot less annoying... cheers
