^^ I agree that it would not work under standard Gal Civ III rules. However I think it is a really great idea, this sort of asymmetrical gameplay is always super interesting to me, I have certainly played a few Venice games in Civ V and I have no idea if any of you have played any of the Arcen Games strategy games like AI War or The Last Federation but they also do this sort of thing really well. In something like Distant worlds you also have the option to

Fantastic read...I that that having a crazy number of factions along with the bigger map sizes is going to be something that really sets the game apart from other 4X. Also liking the Dr Who (??) faction names [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Once again...many thanks for the stream. Any chance we can see the screenshot of the immense map mentioned in the stream either on the forums or in the vault? Would be great to see the scale.
I feel that the vault was really underused, everything that went up was great, I just feel there could have been more of it and overall would have been nice if it was updated at a more regular schedule.
Very exciting times, Stardock certainly has a fair bit going on at the moment. Incredibly interested in what that mystery project could be.
Again many thanks for the stream...working again this week so missed it but always find some time to catch up on it [e digicons]^_^[/e] Going to miss these a lot when the game releases, hope you guys carry on this sort of thing for future games/expansions.
Best to try to ignore it or stick to here... There have been some decent discussions there but as Edladner mentioned there are also a lot of people just interested in disrupting any posts for whatever reason. There is a lot of anger directed towards any early access steam release at the moment. Most of those people do not realize that Stardock for many years has been providing betas for customers long before 'early access' on steam was a thing.
As the post above says, you need to research techs that increase your logistics capacity to add more ships to a fleet. If you click on a fleet it will state the current capacity and how much that fleet is using in the bottom left of the screen.
I have a feeling that this area of the game will become more developed/nuanced once the more complex empire management screen is in (it was discussed somewhat in the last dev stream). It should make switching focus for specific planets easier and ease the amount of micromanagement, I agree that at the moment it is a hassle to go through each planets production wheel screen to make changes. In the current beta I have also rarely used the global production wheel
To build/install modules onto Starbases ;e.g. mining (had the same issue) you have to build another constructor that you then send to the intended starbase location-so that it auto docks with it. Then open up your Starbases management and you will see the modules on the right hand panel, that you can install/fit. Also...can I add to your list...9. If I dont want to make a ship at the shipyard, I wont the option/fe
Played about 200 turns of my first beta game...overall some really nice improvements from the alpha. These are the things that particularly stood out to me at this stage. 1. As far as I can tell there is currently no way to destroy/decommission shipyards? Also when trying to move shipyard I am sometimes unable to end turn as it prompts with 'shipyard orphaned' and then prompts for production. 2. When renaming stuff I should be able to type and
Just downloaded this, looking forward to playing it tonight :D With the difficulty levels...I know the AI hasn't been worked on much yet, are those difficulties just giving the AI a bunch on bonuses at this point to try and even it out a little?
Very exciting, looking forward to trying out the beta.
All sounds very exciting, thanks for the update. Very much looking forward to seeing the huge galaxy maps and of course the fleet battles.
just bought it tonight, I was wondering how I can make a suggestion for a star name...
Go here: https://www.galciv3.com/nameastar
^^ I really like the current style stream, would much rather have what we have than something too heavily scripted, is nice to see the enthusiasm about the game and answering of community questions. Any chance we can meet any of the other devs on stream? I understand it is not for everyone but it would be nice when talking about specific topics like the art.
I honestly think I have worked every friday night since the first two streams :( Off next week though as it is my birthday (my luck there will be no stream then). Many thanks for the upload, will give it a watch now.
It is actually Friday the 25th, not 24th [e digicons]^_^[/e] Had me confused for a second. Talking about the balance between innovating and staying true to what Gal Civ is sounds great. My question: I am really interested in knowing if there are going to be changes to the fog of war on the map...I find myself disliking the grey fog more and more, really hoping it ends up looking a little more interesting.
Thanks a lot for the stream, it is good seeing the internal build, planets are looking really nice and the gameplay possibilities with the terraforming sound great. I am really interested in knowing if there are going to be changes the the fog of war on the map...I find myself disliking the grey fog more and more, really hoping it ends up looking better than that.
I very much doubt that what you are after will ever be done by this game. Gal Civ is just not that type of thing and it is not the direction that the developers have ever indicated towards, it's a tile/hex/grid based game at its heart. I would personally not want it any other way. I wouldn't say the game is 'cartoonish' either, it is stylized in a certain way but I like that as well [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Thanks a lot for the patch notes and bug fixes [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Love the models XavierMace. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome :D Just finished downloading the 225MB Off to give it a try now. Many thanks.
I stumbled across the thread made by I-Mod Stefan here: https://forums.galciv3.com/455368/page/1/#3474589 It got me thinking that it would be great if the game actually had some features that enabled you to: <
