I think this was a great guide for beginners or people new to the series, good job! That said...this doesn't begin to answer my questions:) My main question is around combat. We haven't really heard much about how combat works in Gal Civ 3, and from snippets of dev conservation its pretty different. Also one possible error: The guide says you place influence starbase

My bad. Thats from 2014... http://www.twitch.tv/stardock/b/650982301 Think I found it this time.
EDIT: This is from 1 year ago. Check the link in the following post for the 2015 video. http://www.twitch.tv/stardock/c/4084211
For those who cannot make it for the live stream, it would be very nice if replays could be posted like they used to be. Thanks
You sneaky SOBs! [e digicons];)[/e] You released the latest patch today without "warning" us. I was planning on finishing my current game but because we can't turn of auto updates it updated on me, otherwise I would have logged in offline with Steam. Oh well, time to start over. Thanks for the new patch, btw. [e digicons]:D[/e]
This is an opt in. You can opt out and remain at the previous version.
I have a friend who told me the same while using a custom race with the Yor tech tree.
When it comes to trading tech's the option to just disable it would fit some cases. I personally like being able to buy some techs. They do need to tweak the values a bit more though.
I just wanted to go on record saying that multiplayer lives and that the 0.82 patch has made it stable. Game: 4 human players (3 custom & 1 Krynn) + Many AI (All standard races + 2 custom) + Abundant Minors / Gigantic = Playable without stability issues. 1 little jab is I don't want it limited to 4 humans. I get the logistics of more humans = slower turns, but thats why they invented cattle prods. Last night we had to have an odd man out, and if th
The shipyard decay could be a result of a racial trait. If you are playing as Terran or possibly a custom race, then you could have the ability to ignore shipyard decay. I have not personally watched for effects of an economic base on planets, but it does take a turn to complete. I'll have to check that out.
GNN Is proud to bring you our multiplayer news report! Ok maybe it's a bit to early for the dramatics so I'll stop there. Setup: 4 Human Player(3 custom 1 standard), Many AI (All standard races plus a few custom), Maxed Minor races. We had smooth game play and observed the bugs listed in this post. No events, and whenever an AI would speak to one of us it prompted us all to speak to them on the same matter. In addition to that when prompted
Can you tell us more about how mining works? Income/production boosts? I'm sure you will probably go over the experimental parts side already. Thanks
Now thats amazing! This is the kinda dedication that made gal civ 1 & 2 amazing, as I'm certain 3 will be! Looking forward to this though I doubt I'll be free this weekend, Ill defiantly watch any recordings.
Having low memory will limit greatly what you can do. Thats something they are working to improve, but even at 8Gb thats still not ideal. Though having 8 vs having 4.. yes that will help a lot. Also Have you updated to the opt in beta yet? I noticed improvements in turn speed from beta 5 when I updated to the 5.1 update. Playing an insane map with max opponents, is going to have far stiffer needs then playing a tiny with a few. When you get the additional 4 Gb in, I would test out some map si
Big +1 for the info! Thanks for the update.
There was mention in a dev stream that they plan to possibly add wasd scrolling for the map.
If you receive a trade window and it appears as though one side is not giving anything hit the back button to avoid a crash. Also worth noting I have not encountered this issue since installing the opt in.
That would be amazing! I'll of course post reports on experiences in this matter.
Thats a better question to put on their forums ;) But I'm there with ya. In Shogun you could at least do a couple of things, Rome saw a reduction and in Attila, you just wait. Still great games though.
Bump. REALLY would like to know if others have had the same issue.
Currently you can plan anything but ship movements during another players turn. Research, building, govern, etc. Ship movements have to occur on your actual turn though. The above comment about twitch play is correct. I am a fan of not having twitch in. I'm far to focused on the many other outlets of this game to even try to beat someone else to the punch on ship movements.
Currently you can make a copy of a race and edit the copy. Then delete the original. The new one would be displayed at the end of the list. Most bottom most right. I hope this helps until they add an edit button.
That sounds like a bug. I recall your prior post. I would submit the save. The only game options would be the 50 turn pragmatic cease to war followed by the UP declaration of peace. It is possible I suppose. You can check the UP screen to see if the war ban is current. Another possibility is that your starting the game teamed up with the AI? That would prevent any aggression for the entire game as your treated as allies forever.
Thanks for the video! One of these days I'll have to catch it live.
This continues to be a problem for us. Has anyone made it work with more then 2 human players?
