There was mention of multiplayer love in the latest dev stream. The bread and butter of this series will always be single player but they have the bones already in place for decent multiplayer support. Its just gotta be researched past the age of expansion... if you catch my drift.
So I have to wonder, is stardock somehow transmitting some evil substance in their electronic transmissions to addict people beyond all reason? Shouldn't there be an investigation?!
Yes... and no. Just give me more I say! ;)
I "lost" an absurd amount of time in Gal Civ II. The fact that the map size is reported to be 2&1/2 times bigger then in Gal Civ 2... Yeah I just hope I don't go senile for a very long time because I'm certain to be lost in Gal Civ 3 for a long time to come. The progress RELEASED thus far pales in comparison to the final product we lovingly know as Gal Civ 2 at this point. That being said, it's alot of the same team with the same goals, with better technology. I like many othe
I don't believe minor races are coded to expand in any manor, including invading. I would imagine however that the AI is very similar to major races but by removing its ability to expand. Either by just preventing it from making the proper ships, or completely removing its logic to use them. Honestly I'm interested in seeing which it is. I personally just used the minors as easy pickings most the time, but I fully intend to toy with them now that I have been given a few new ideas abou
In regards to your 1st point I would disagree as those numbers as important as they are, are not directly modifiable and are essentially a reporting. The listings below that (in the case of colonies) have to yield those numbers in relation to that planet as well as name, and production que. That is simply my opinion though and not intended to invalidate your own. The shipyard sponsor issue, I have never observed and I agree the primary should always be the highest production planet, t
Yes but even with different racial traits the game, which may change it slightly, the attack of a Cutter from the Terran's and a Cutter from the Drengin will still have the same weapon damage and the weapons look the same. I not only mean that the races should have different stats but also designs should be different. It's not like all races had the same idea for Stingers at the same time. Weapons should reflect the race, such a
Interesting ideas. I'll certainly be giving them a go
I payed to play this game off steam but most of the time the game never lets me attack another race. I don't think the space UN, pragmatism or whatever can or should be able to stop me from attacking anybody. this game is turning out to be convoluted. I don't care if the game is still in beta! if I am playing malevolent and I choose to attack another race I should be able to attack them with my small fleet no matter what. I am new to this series and I am su
Can you please tell us more about the progress of the AI?
2nd that reply. I would like to hear more about their progress in the next dev stream though.
That sounds like a balancing and AI issue. This type of thing is fairly normal for games in prerelease and even in released games. The important part is that now they can be aware of it and better situate the AI to any similar situations. Kudo's for owning the Dregin! ;)
Hello, When this bonus comes up and I have a lot of planets, I can spend the better part of a half hour just putting each batch of 3 ships into a fleet and putting them on guard. Can't this be done automatically ? Even If I were to use some right away, most of the time it is not the case, I'd still have to fleet them up. It's a lot of clicks, for every planet to click 3 times once for each ship, then click
There is not. Randomizing makes it a surprise much like venturing out into the unknown.
I would really like to hear more details on the progression of the AI. Diplomatic and otherwise. Thats my official request for the next dev stream. I've been playing gal civ since 97 and I know what were in for. It's the most important feature to me. Love the space battles but to be honest after I get the roles figured out it's likely I won't use the battle viewer very much. Not to say I don't really appreciate it and think it's going great. With that said, I'm ver
There are also no Terran space ships in reality ;) But seriously it's looking great and on their latest video Paul mentioned they were going to real in the trails to make them smaller.
Yes, but those are definitely terran battleships on the sky and not altarian ships. So what gives?
Those are Terran ships. Perhaps captured ships?
Can you port the stream to DOS? lol But really excited. want BETA 5. give us a date? Maybe today? that would rock we can call it a prebirthday present for next year. Keep up the great work
With the best game coming around the corner I have to ask. Are you modders getting ready? Who wants to turn the best damn game into the craziest scifi universe known to all, including time lords. I guess this is my inquiry into who out there isnt scared that the code is bigger on the inside?
My opinion on the matter is this. Not all planets out there are usable. The actual amount of usable planets in our universe is small by comparison to those that are uninhabitable. I think that given the adjustable settings change this ratio I can say what we consider realistic is possible. What I think would be an amazing alteration would be needing to survey planets to determine habitable or not habitable. Sending a ship to survey planets would add alot of ship management potentially, but I
If you read my post it is an opinion rather then an answer. You are correct that definitive confirmation would have to come directly from the dev team as with any game or software project. That is fascinating to know about steams workshop as I really had not paid it enough mind to be aware of that though.
Since they have already undertaken the project of steam integration I would think that would be a very logical method of supporting modding. My only question is who is going to do a Dr Who mod?!
Having just played the yor for a bit, I can see and understand the complexities involved in what will need to be AI changes for the YOR. It also explains why they tend to fall behind when run as AI. Thanks for the info
I would like to start that I have not yet tried them. I have had them in many games and it appears that they are not able to properly compete with the other nations. They have been on the bottom of all the games I have been playing.without the graphs and stuff I can't really speculate why but perhaps some attention to their ai would help. Thanks for listening
I tend to agree. What got me was that the previous owner was in no way alarmed that their planet just revolted and joined my ranks. I would think some diplomatic reaction would be appropriate in such a situation.
Currently if you have stacked ships you cannot select them as a whole to select Pass or other options. I think while not entirly a problem, it would be better if I could select them as a whole and issue generic commands. Most notably the Pass option.
