Yes, the temperature increases when galciv3.exe is active, but, apparently, less in the lastest versions of the game. Also, I already had highest temperatures, without galciv3.exe active, and without any problem. And the game can crash after 5 minutes, or after 5 hours of play.

I don't know how much time is needed to adapt alternative technology trees, either "manually", or with an "automatic program" (per example, "remove all the "3 in 1" boxes, and put the specialization techs in the trees as normal techs in new tech branches"), or any other solution. When I set a destination to a ship, it should take the direct path, so it discovers a new area between the origin and the destination (or it takes the direct path to avoid an enemy area, etc.). If I need to set a smaller path, per example, 8 tiles, then 8 tiles, then 8 tiles, etc., instead of directly select the destination located 100 tiles further, it becomes rapidly really annoying. Perhaps for a better gaming experience (and a better behavior from the AI), the weapons fire distance should be removed, so all the weapon types can be used simultaneously. Basically, if the ship can stay out of range of the other weapons (with starbase in your example), they becomes useless.
