Digisoft has a downloadable version of Win7 Pro 64 for about $70.00. http://www.genuine-products.com/Windows-7-Professional-SP1-64-Bit--Download-_p_265.html?gdftrk=gdfV26123_a_7c2662_a_7c9775_a_7c882224923026 Tiger Direct is more expensive at $135.00 + shipping, but they include the media if that sort of thing matters
There has been speculation that it might run on XP64, but the FAQ says you need Win7 or Win8.
Q: What are the requirements to run Galactic Civilizations III? A: It will require a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or 8 along with a DirectX 10 or 11 compatible video card. There will be no 32-bit version. Most PC gamers in 2013 have this kind of hardware, and it allows us to create the best game possible for the majority of our customers.
You can add any weapon you've researched to any ship as long as it fits. I wouldn't recommend building any core ship designs. You can design much better ships from the very beginning. Engines only increase speed. You'll need life support to extend range. Good hunting.

It's an old thread, so it's easy to miss. No reasonable person would expect you to read all of the threads. Stardock answered the "Preorder Cutoff Dates" thread...
There's no cutoff date at the moment. When/if it happens, I'm sure we will give a heads up so you can get your orders in before then.
Hi all! It's good to see you here! You're probably already aware, but in case you're not, there's good news on the carrier front...
Those who like the idea of designing carriers and seeing carriers in action in fleet battles I think will be happy. I don't like click fests, I would rather just allow the computer to take care of combat. I like to do the colony management, I like creating the ships, choosing what to research. I like the turn based awesomeness that this game represents. RTS should not be part of this game in any form. Sorry, I am old school in games, I feel like there are soooo many cl

Well, since it's a wish list, I'd like to start with Carriers or some sort of fighter carrying modules. The fighters can be recoverable up to a point, but when your pilots are all dead, you have to go get some pop off of a planet to replenish them. That, and the materials to rebuild the fighters.
Carriers or carrier modules would fit nicely into the strategic flavor of GalCiv. As long as you don't have to control each one during the fight, I think it would be a good addition. Using them sparingly and at the right time would probably be the key to successful deployment. I can't see their value late game, but they'd work mid game in some circumstances.
I used rally points quite extensively in GalCiv2 and would like to see it expanded. A rally point list would be nice. Perhaps using rally points and planets as waypoints would be a nice addition too.
Just because you disagree with people it doesn't make them trolls. Get over yourself. And Zydor only says that because it's true and appropriate. That comment was directed at Surge in case it wasn't clear.
Bummer. You'll probably have to open a ticket with Stardock Support. There's a thread for activations in the GalCiv2 forums that seems to get attention from Stardock, but there hasn't been a post there since last year. https://forums.galciv2.com/122873/page/15/#3301976 It's worth a try anyway.
I'm pretty sure that Impulse is dead. You can probably find your games and updates on the Stardock support site. https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount After you log in using the email and password associated with the game, you can go to My Downloads. It should be listed there with the keys and all. I assume that the updates are attached to the downloads.
