1.9+ patch feedback (bug) One can not cancel projects once in the queue. (example research project) Please take a look at this. Thanks Edit: This seemed to clear up upon reloading the game I was able to cancel the project so I don't know the specific cause.
I've always wondered why starbase bonuses stack. Towards the end of the game I have more starbases than planets.
Most likely somewhere between 5-7 times the number of star bases depending on number of multi-planet systems and how close the planets are :)
2. human player will not use planet governor, which makes the game too micro-intensive.
I never use planet governors because I can usually do a better job on my own. Mind you I normally only go to each planet a few times through out the game and change things I don't check it anytime there is a new tech or building so I human can do better. I don't feel the planet is too micro-intensive, by far s
I had a game in GCII where the Yor got the event which allowed it to snowball in strength. I am do not remember it I think it was called precursor relic on one of its planets. This event gave that particular ai a bonus to everything (per turn). It started out small and snowballed if you left it alone. Well in this game I did not see the event pop up.
Agreed... There is a similar event in Galactic Civilization
Clarification: my goal of this post is to brainstorm potential ways to improve the AI governor. We don't need to solve a NP-complete problem that gives absolute optimal placement. A non-optimal algo that improves AI by 2-3x in efficiency will go a long way.
I agree I've noticed that they do not use adjacency very well at all. It's like they need to place each type of building first prior to looking

1.9 SP game feedback part IV Continued core game feedback. (General AI Behavior) Torian, placed a Solar Plant next to a capitol +2 on a Floodplain where a farm would have benefited the most from this location and a solar plant has very little benefit. Instead placed a farm next to a factory in a different clump followed by a research building. Another faction built a farm, next to a marketplace, next to a factory & resea
I approve of the change, but it was an extreme culture shock, and I may back off that setting in the future. Still, it was good to see "rare" really mean "rare".
Now only if Abundant actually meant "abundant" :)

Observation III on 1.9 SP game... General Gameplay Starting to see some planetary defense by turn 100 with some AI, however two declared war prior to having this capability. Manufacturing seems a bit low most quality ships are taking 20+ turns to build, however, before was way too high. Is the administration thing in the game yet for star bases? Don't seem to have any issue building star bases to this point. Several are starti
I suppose that was an exploit to be corrected, but the fix and gone too far and upgrades are now too costly.
I've felt upgrades for the most part have been too costly as I rarely upgrade my ships in the game just not worth it. When I have manufacturing planets that can bump out the best ship I can build in 1-3 turns or upgrade a run down ship many tech upgrades behind for 13k credits, I'll scrap it an

Some additional feedback on 1.9 and observations (Normal AI 92 factions in game on Insane map). Slider is set to 39% Research/Manufacturing 22% Economy. General Gameplay I agree with the others turn time does appear to be faster, so far averaging 10-20 seconds per turn on turn 91. AI not looking for Relics, no AI star bases seen by turn 91, although limited vision into AI's space at this point. AI not defending planets, 2 AI declare

1.9 Single Player Feedback Existing Game Game Loading about the same, didn't time it but, wasn't quicker by much if any. Memory went from 14.8 GB on my machine down to 13.6 GB (less Windows overhead of about 3.0 GB). CPU usage dropped to about 40% from 65%. New Game Game Loading about the same, same as above.
I also agree, that it appears influence has been cut back a bit much -- how could anyone perform a influence victory and strategy focused on planet culture flip?
Yes, this is another great point on influence being cut back so far.

Here is the contents of my designs folder, some are ships imported from others through MP play some our my own, on all ships they should be designed using the ship builder in game. Many ships just upgraded on core design ships some created new. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y001h5j0dp8cw4y/Designs.zip?dl=0 Here is an older designs folder (don't know how compatible with the current game it is, this i

My thoughts on 1.9 (in the MP game with erischild)... Loading MP Games... The game load time = about the same little if any difference. MP start up process = same if not longer MP loading factions = appears longer don't exactly no why as nothing changed here. MP map building = same, nothing changed, however does Stardock cap data transfer to 1mbps? It is getting more common for Internet service to
I was going to ask you if we could cooperate on CFSing your factions specifically (I don't really care about the credit, just the factions). YI [edit I] have modified them for myself: pictures are replaced, some stats are twiddled, and I rewrote some of the text (I tried not to change the 'feel' of the factions). Regardless of who does it, I would love to see your factions at the "CFS" standard. They are old friends by n
I want Game pacing that is relevant past turn 50.
This is the only "I want" point on this list that I would see any value in. Otherwise another "I want" would be... Star bases to be able to defend themselves better in late game, yes they can have a defending fleet, and can even have little fighters as part of the modules but, by the time one researches this technology star bases as a whole are vastly weaker than even a cargo ship with weapons
Re Starbase distancing We are in the process of adding a long-asked for resource called Administration. A small empire will have disproportinately more of this than large empires and starbases will consume them. It's part of the goal to allow for more vertical strategies. Thus, you will be limited in the total # of starbases you can build.
Thank you for the answer to these question very much ap

After thinking about this over night, I have another thought about the AI and wondering how it's effecting custom factions and priorities of each core faction. After all right now the player chooses the priorities for the faction when the faction is created see below... So with the changes that you're putting into effect is the AI completely ignoring t
