Qouting Froboy on the Alpha status :) 1. Multiplayer works. Great I hope it works :) 2. The AI colonizes planets, builds up planets, invades (poorly). Awesome to hear, don't want them invading anyways ;) What's rough: a. Lots of missing UI elements. I'm sure it's a work in

Good thing Stardock isn't all greed and actually listens to their fans which is why Stardock will not let us down with Galactic Civilizations III :)

Home systems were set for a reason - it's too easy for specific combinations to be overpowered.
For one you can make it close to the way the home worlds are already with little difference. And still everyone would be held at the same standard.
Don'

Even if they say the alpha will definately be released on such and such a day, it's best to expect it to be delayed. That's just how these things work. It's still on target for Winter release for Alpha they said last, so let's expect it in the spring.
If Frogboy hinted at the end of Febru
Not a bad idea at all. Though obviously if it can be modded from release day it shouldn't pose a significant problem if it is not implemented. The guide to modding helped alot to start modding easily when I modded GC2, regarding this. I hope they will make one for this version as well(and keep the best modding aspects for this and improve others, like modding starting year or starting star type being other than yellow sun if desirabl
So, with no exact date for the release but with a general idea let's say 4 1/2 weeks away :) I know many are awaiting some more than others. Some keep thinking it's already out, but sadly not publicly :( So at this point is everyone ready? My new computer is built ready to go, are all your upgrades set? Does everyone have a win 7/8 machine, 64 bit with a gpu that supports directx 10/11? Have your vacation ready? Your overtime killed?

I think this is one thing that was lacking in Twilight of Arnor, I loved that you could customize your race many different ways with different bonus'. However, when it came time to the planet you always got the same system if you chose the custom race or stuck with it seeing you as one of the other major races if you just took that race and customized it for your race. You should have the ability to create your system. See example below... you get 30 habitable
Thanks Frogboy for the update :) sorry you've been busy, hopefully you'll get a little rest soon.
After over a month (5 weeks) of any official word in the founders vault and almost no communication since the 1st of the year (3 weeks). Is the lack of any news bad news? Did they run into a wall and need to fix something major before resuming the normal process with the development of the game? Or... Is the lack of any news Good News. Is the team hard at work trying to get as much as they can functional for the Alpha release, hopeful to be about a month aw
Still nothing new :( everyone has gotten hush hush on the game since the break [e digicons]:'([/e]
But at beginning there will be silence... Or here in Stardock people play games differently - all other alphas I participated turned to some wasteland upon release of new version.
Actually I think the opposite - should alpha be here, we would have awful silence on these boards, because we would be, well, playing. So, yes, you will know when it's publicly released. [quote who="admiralWillyWilber" reply="

Anyone notice the Galactic Civilization III music in the background :D
yeah seems they've been busy since being back at work after the holiday's little activity on this front the last couple of weeks :( posts by Stardock reps or founders vault. I hope that means great game :)
I'd better got alpha access earlier than some pictures. Or even godly music.
Alpha access will not be till late next month, I would hope we'd have more extras in the founders vault by then, as once we get alpha access we will have many extras with that release.
Almost a month with no new founder information :( although I suppose they were off for two weeks for Christmas and the New Year. I hope they are hard at work looking forward to it :)

Now here is a question. AMD has been slaughtered by benchmark tests against Intel, when testing it with games such as Battlefield 4, in such, For instance the AMD FX 9530 8 core CPU against the Intel i7 4770k 4 core CPU was very close to being the same with Intel having a slight advantage. Here is the question, with a game such as Galactic Civilizations III designed specifically for more CPU cores will this make a difference for AMD or will it be the same or similar result
