Yes it was happening for me as well in WI, USA as well.... It would buffer horribly, I had to let it sit and load which was at an extremely slow connection to the host for some reason took 4 hours for the 40 minute video to fully load. But on a side note I hope that they do it again.

In both versions several planets have generated at X class but, when you enter it is actually at Y class, pictures are posted of this in one of my other posts see below <span style="t
I think it's just that way for the Alpha, however, yes 90% are research and then I've seen a few others, but it appears randomization is not working correctly. I would expect we'll see more randomized options in either the next version of Alpha or by Beta for sure.

Okay because I was quick to throw my opinion on the planet screen with out much in depth discussion I'll throw my complete list out there. Likes The contrast, however it would be nice if there was little color versus black and white, but not enough to prevent the buildable tiles from popping. The unused tiles are not outlined at all... It appears easier to "rush" or "buy" and
I really wish the tiles where a little smaller more tiles maybe another row horizontally and vertically... But I agree it's easier to see what is in the build que.
I have seen this and reported it in Alpha 0.0.1.0 as well...
I like that races would be more inclined to certain planet types that in itself, however, I disagree that any race would be excluded from ever colonizing any planet and below are the reasons... The more advanced my race gets I may be able to convert an aquatic world into a desert world by selling off or moving all the water, or heating the planet up, or vise-versa. I may be able to mine the gas from a gas giant and sell that off, and live on the moons. (Even though li
I love the complexity of this game and several others. The main reason is the complexity with building your own ships the way you want them. This got me thinking, why not bring it the next step further. I know this would mean more micromanagement (for those that want it) but, then have an option to do automatic research as well. This is what I propose... Research basic components of engines, such as cooling system, thrust, plasma coils ect... T
I would call colonizing a planet equivalent to a deep scan of the planet. Your sending millions / billions of people to the planet, I'm sure they will find anything that was there.
Maybe, but I was thinking that it could still open up other possibilities even with habitable worlds. Maybe surveying prior to colonization would get you extra benefits of some sort...
Are you suggesting that you could survey already colonized planets? Somehow that feels a bit weird.
I am yes, but at risks....
If you do not survey a planet and colonize it instead, do you lose the potential bonus?
I think you could do both? maybe you'd double planet quality or cut planet quality in half depending on what you find... Of course I'd say you'd have many more options to find than that... Maybe if you survey it prior to colonization you could possibly find something that allows you to place the placement
I would also agree that it the survey ship should take a turn to explore said planets.
I would go one step further with turn to survey... Basic technology to survey worlds takes 10 turns to do basic survey, 20 turns to do a deep survey. Next technology may cut this in half, and next cut in half again. basic survey has 1% to find something where as deep survey should have 2% or something along that. &
I'm assuming in the final version of Galactic Civilizations III, auto update will be enable along with many other features currently not in play in Alpha 0.0.2.0. With that being said I would like an option simular to Evil's suggestion on having it auto update unless one chooses to disable this feature in an option toggle. I also like the option mentioned above by Nukar allowing one to upgrade all structures of said type galaxy wide, or go one step further sector wide (i
updated confirmed errors I saw in 0.0.2.0 on the top list.
If that's the case than starbases should be able to be captured, or turned to your side.... otherwise I'm just going to build starbases all over your space to prevent you from building any lol.
I think they are fine, in fact could be even smaller with more tiles on the screen... I think GalCiv2 they are too big too... just my opinion
