Could you try to explain why you think adjacency is good? Why does it add to gameplay? And why wouldn't it be great anymore if it was for example (exaggerated) a sim city minigame? "too far away from core GC" is a feeling, try to explain that feeling.
EleventhStar, even though I love the concept of a "simcity" mini game on each planet, this is not GalCiv. GalCiv is a galactic game on exploration and confli
Is this de-innovation of the series? For example systems like espionage and terror stars are not slated to be in the base game, while i don't think anybody would argue that those couldn't be made into cool systems. In the past you have said that this is mostly due to time/budget constraints, but could you talk about this in terms of innovation?
While I also don't like that these features won't be in t

Yes, many people have it crashing as you get further into the game, Very buggy after many turns, this will be fixed, that's all part of the Alpha, we just have to wait, and hopefully it will be better in the next version, either Alpha 4 or Beta 1 :)
Yeah but wasn't the whole reason to delay the beta to be close to feature complete?
Meaning that they hope to have most of the game play features in by beta, such as all resources, and black holes. Most likely we won't get more races until later in beta, as those will be finalized as we approach the release date (simular to how previous versions were released in beta) As stated above by
I agree with Larsenex and Charon on this as well... I'm looking for an improved Galactic Civilizations II by the end of the day, better graphics expanded gameplay more options. To this point, that is where it appears to be be going, which is why I'm excited about it :)
One question I had is with the auto upgrades to buildings... You stated near the end that you could build a mega factory (sorry forget the name right now) and it would start with the lower tech building first and than auto go to the next and so on... My concern is what if you have 5 mega factory's building? will it build the base factory first for all 5 or just 1 and then go to the next? My suggestion would be if you have several advanced buildings in que, that i
Okay I'm going to trademark the letter "R" as a my name of my company, and then sue everyone that uses the letter "R" in any game name as clearly they were trying to steel my loyal fans into purchasing their games. Ultimately the US court system got that right, "Rebellion" is a word that means to oppose and fight against a larger oppressor and could be used for many contexts including a strategy game.
Here are a few more... 3. The image below states the tech unlocks "Missing Info +1" This is great but, what is missing info lol... I'm assuming this is a place holder, however, wanted to make sure it wasn't overlooked. 4. The image below states the tech accelerated agriculture gives Food +0. Doesn't seem like the tech doesn't do an
Here are some of the bugs that I see in Alpha 3.001... 1. If you look in the mini-map the planet names still appear in the grayed out area in the mini-map from the main game screen. When the screen moves so the names are in the exposed area the names fall into the background and are not seen. This only occurs when you move unselect anything and move the screen so the planet names are in the mini-map. If a ship is selected this does not happen. &n
Thanks for the feed back, all your request are already on the list.
Thanks mormegil. Another which I do have a screenshot for but I don't believe it's needed. When the Altarians find a survey ship they find the terrian survey ship. This should be either a different looking ship or an Altarian survey ship. Just my thoughts.
The missing ship on the map bug is also something I encounter as well. It comes up more often when I form fleets also.
I've seen the missing ship as well but, in this case it wasn't missing just the blue circle around the ship showing it was selected.
The only reason you would not be able to build a ship is if you do not have a required resource, the tool tip in the shipyard should say, but we need to make this much clearer to the user, and will be a high priority to address before beta 1.
Sorry I figured out my issue, I saved it as a template and therefore wasn't available as a ship. Added the components and re-saved resolved issue. With that being said h
Hello all, spent the last couple of hours playing Alpha 3, here are my thoughts... (Edit some other minor thoughts are the galaxy settings are broken, I chose abundant on everything. The stars were spread out, many stars had 0 planets, and if they had planets most were not habitable. My thoughts are if I have it set to abundant almost every star would have at least 1 habitable planet if not more, most stars would have several planets, with very few with none. Stars w
Being that everyone else has put a guess out there, I'll put my 2 cents in as well... I say Thursday June 26, 2014 or Thursday July 10, 2014. It would not be released on Thursday July 3, 2014.
I agree with this. Matter of fact I'd like to push this a little more in specifying that it shouldn't be easy to detect planet classes. Leaving some of realism aside, I think it makes exploration more intense and rewarding not knowing where you specifically are venturing off to. An example of what I think would be enjoyable: Planets that are 100 tiles away from your nearest sensor or more (sensor = anything you own; planet, starb
1. I don't like that you're thinking about having a tech that shows you what class distant planets are. I think you should have a tech that shows you where planets are. Potentially even about what class planets are such as planet class up to 8 or potential 8-12. Such as right now we as a planet can tell planets are around stars and estimate it may be earthlike ect. But don't know for sure. 2. Love that there are more tiles on the planet
I want to see what we can break :)
Okay there is a new database file in the founders vault. What is it how, do we use it ect... Thanks,
Will the new planet screen be in the new Alpha build? Also Are all the ship designs goi
Just like the cost thing. A group of idiots focus one one thing only as the determining factor.
What $100 for an Alpha that's nuts I hate this and everything it stands for... Who cares that this gives you the complete game, DLC's and Expansions, not going to pay any attention to that, Sound about right? lol
On early access: The reason I payed $100 is because I am a "Stardock-groupie". I have little intention of playing the game until it is released - just like to support a company that I trust and value. And of course the fact that I have played and still am playing GalCiv2 more often than any other game. Will buy some copies as gift for my friends on release as well. (in this way you can say that Stardock gets pa
Now that sounds like a good game, don't know if I'll get that one on early access, however, sounds good :) Although being that it also has Mohawk games in on it as well it may not be the one they're testing in house but either way it sounds good.
Just run solo :) You can do it :)
