Edited: Didn't read post #125 read post #75. Good news too bad going out of town this weekend...

I would love to attempt a four player MP game 2 vs 2 (turn times may need to be watched to keep the game from dragging but, it could be interesting) Now to figure out logistics :)
There are many ideas in this post, so I'll put my two cents in... I like that transports are not used to a point. Transports as the are now have x transport modules, I think this should translate to legions in which a player can load a transport with x legions and head off into space. When the transport arrives at a planet the player can choose to deploy y transport modules (legions) to the planet. Those legions are used up transport can continue in tact with z t
No im asking that my stars are individually named, not a butload called starnames, so i dont have a butload of planets called star system 2
Stars are individually named, there should be no duplicates of star names in the galaxy unless you modded the star name list. Therefore, if your game is running out of star names it sounds like someone modded the game to remove the star name list and it's defaulti
What is this post trying to accomplish?
I have heard that is pretty much the rule for those of us who play the Big Game.
Yup that was the first year of me playing the game, start game, find unrecoverable bug, report, support (after the run around) states issue may be resolved in the next patch, patch released, (support says you need to restart game fresh to make sure) restart game (even though 40 hours into insane game), play 40 hours only to reproduce s
once the bugs are fixed, I usually receive this kind of message from tech support to my tickets.
I have one or two times but, most of my tickets just get the canned answer and I never hear anything about them again.
I do not fault any individual. The total result is, however, unsatisfying.
I agree there should be a better solution to the quote " it had been forwarded to the devs and an estimation for completion could not be offered." Although not an exact quote as verbage is slightly different is the generic phrase given by Stardock support once an issue is identified. I would suggest an e-mail or reply back once

The AI does not key on the players that have this trait allowing one to keep landing these relics allowing them to quickly jump up on research production. (We've noticed this in our MP games.) I wonder if thats more a case of the AI not valuing them as much as a consideration to go to war or as a target to attack. I also wonder if the AI is able t
Unbalance, now mind you unbalance is part of the game, however, certain race traits become very exploitable by the player causing research to skyrocket beyond anyone else with out the trait. Are there any specific traits your thinking of?
Ancient - Provides extra research points per Relic owned.
I have never heard of or seen a FOW bug in the game. Can you describe this?
FOW reveal bug has been around since 1.5-1.8 (in that range don't know specifically when it cropped up). It is below as follows. (Usually appears with zoom level of map where one can see full graphics of all units/galactic items.) FOW reveal bug with ships set to a specific location for several turns (5+).
I would love to set up a bracket type tournament for Galactic Civilizations III. Below is the proposal as well as the hurdles to over come. The Proposal Stardock to organize and run... 16-64 Players would register with Steam name (for metaverse ranking) and time zone/availability to play. Games would be limited to tiny or small maps 1 vs 1 with a few minors to add flavor. <
Frustrating, on average I play like 1 in 30 generations, not what I call fun tbh.
That's why I posted the above post, this is the common issue I run into, this is not the unusual.
Rifts were a potential feature introduced in the Alpha/Beta. However, it was never put into the game and is not an active map feature, turning this on/off does nothing. They were intended to spawn anomalies across the galaxy.
Good Afternoon Stardock, After two years or so since game launch I would like to share the current state of the game in players eyes. Now I know Crusade will change the game play of the game but, most of these issues have been around since pre-launch and not much has been done about them or even been acknowledged. Overall many Founders are owners of Galactic Civilizations II and most were looking for a more modern game that could bring Galactic Civilizations II up to date
Typically on insane maps with max players (AI) I'm normally running 10-12 gb of memory used, depending on progress of game it may jump near the high end, or fall below the low end. The game typically evenly is using all my cores throughout the game with a higher load on any core minimal.
Quoting 00zim00, reply 37 But to answer, in my experience I never use the prototype weapons as I dont tend to build many if any ships until I have researched some better weapons. The cost of the resource is better used in a resource building IMO. <
When can we expect new updates, info estimate date? Beta maybe? (okay that may be a long shot)
Speaking of anomalies, i have been meaning to bring it up. Is it just me or is the re-spawn rate for anomalies really low now? I remember I use to be able to set them to abundant and even when I nearly got them all by mid game, by late game a large enough amount re spawned frequently enough to justify keeping a few survey ships. Now it seems by mid game I should just decommission all my survey ships as the time between new anomalies is so
This has been an issue since day one, they scale things way back for the largest of the maps...
Hey... I tried reading through everything... but maybe I missed it... has no one pointed out that you CAN upgrade all ships of one class to another through the govern/orders screens? Not ideal since you likely only want to upgrade ships in a certain fleet/etc. but it does help.
I did above, plus it's easy to find yourself in debt quick if you do this as there is no warning on total cost.
With the previous post from Frogboy about the upcoming Crusades expansion several people expressed interest in the possibility of a Galactic Civilizations Mobile App, in specific modeling after Galactic Civilizations II. Now with this being said a few questions to the Galactic Civilizations fans... What Galactic Civilizations would you want an app to be based on, Galactic Civilizations (the original), Galactic Civilizations II (Gold), Galactic Civilizations III (
This will be a list of problems that I have with GalCiv 3. For a while, I've been finding it difficult to put into words reasons why I don't like this game. Instead of waiting for my writers block to pass, I'll be posting stuff that I think could be improved. They are in no particular order. I'll be posting as I think of them. -I can't upgrade ships easily. When I want to upgrade ships in a fleet, I have to do it one at a time. The ships break away
