I'm pretty sure you don't have anything to worry about. It will likely be more a less just like how GC2 handled research just with an improved tech tree.
Can we have heavy metal music on the game as an option. This would be nicer.
We will have to see but maybe you can edit the music selection in the XML as a mod. I myself prefer the classical space opera-ey music.
You will have large fleets, based on the podcast with Paul Boyer who said around 60 ships. You just won't have direct control of the fleet. I'm curious if the AI is the one assigning ship roles or if you can assign attack patterns. Kinda like Birth of the Federation, but instead of in combat have it in the fleet creation screen. Star Drive had something like this. I know Star Drive didn't turn out so well I liked how the fleet screen was "supposed" to work. Execution, well, we kno
Quoting Omnax1, reply 77 Quoting Frogboy, reply 75 The Founder's Elite edition is going to be, by far, the best deal. We have planned 2 or 3 major expansions plus god knows how many DLC packs over the next several years. I am hoping for 3 major expansions now when I have elite founder pack . And you guys have engine which can easily scale into the future.
Combat sounds interesting. I can't wait to see more.
No tattoos? Not that I expect her appearance to be just like it was in GalCiv2 but I think the tattoos were an iconic part of the race. Don't take this complaint too harshly she looks amazing.
So taking a second look at the IOS games on deck. This looks so much more interesting now doesn't it. https://draginol.stardock.net/images/islanddog/c021cfb0f5a8_BF36/StarTrails.png While I don't think it's GalCiv for the iOS it is using the IP. Just from this pic it appears to be a FTL like game. Thoughts. <a href="https://draginol.stardock.ne
I'll be honest, I like the minimap of GC2 Beta better than the GC2 one...
I agree with you there. Ah well too late for that. The GalCiv3 Ui looks amazing.
Ignore this. REALLY, REALLY dumb question haha.
By the way, what race you guys planning on playing? Thalan for me
I'm going to recreate the Torians. After years of being used as a cure for the munchies they will rise up and conquer the Drengin empire. RISE TORIANS RISE. On a serious note, probably Altarian. Although the human fleet looks pretty cool. Basically too early to tell right now for me.
heh, I should have read this first https://forums.galciv3.com/450347/page/1/
One of the most important Kingdom factions is called Altar which would make it's people Altarians. Pretty sure Stardock is setting us up for a grand merging of their IPs. :D
So, it looks like weapons have custom properties now. Is combat going to take place on the strategic map like Civ 5 is the question I have. We know there isn't any tactical battles but why are there long range weaapons and efficient weapons. [e digicons][/e] looking good so far. This should answer people's complaints from GalCiv2 about the weapons being boring.
Become a founder elite then you can add 1 star of your choosing. [e digicons][/e]
Wrong thread, people. Back on topic: I would like to know how many turns it takes for players to level up several decent (lvl 8+) heroes. Are we talking about season 40, 80, 200?
It really depends on the map. Some maps you can level fast because you get a lot of easy quests and mobs. Other maps you have very few quest and large dangerous mobs near you.
Is there a continue movement button? This was a very useful feature that Endless Space had. It made managing a large number of late game fleets so much easier. I'm starting to think that little orb is an anomoly. It appears the planet lighting is correctly coming from the stars with the exception of Drengi's moon which does not have a shadow. Man this screenshot is beautiful.
Dyson sphere? err maybe not
Is it just me, or is Lord Kona looking uglier than usual? Old age must not be agreeing with him. Or is it the Torian diet?
[e digicons]8C[/e] My poor Torians.
Planets probably not because that would change the map. But I'm curious about that blackhole which is a static object. Froggy any chance that you could create a gif with some of the early animations. [e digicons]:pout:[/e] Also is that star around the blackhole animated? Also, since the reason for the image is to show off the UI I have to say it looks great. Nice and clean. Give the art designer a big [e digicons][/e] for me. </

I think XP should be ok. I don't remember too many titles that you couldnt get running with XP. Plus I still have my WinXP disk and I have till April to get the updates. The problem area is the games from Win95 to WinME era, a time when everyone an their mama was creating a new video card such as 3dfx and Diamond. I find many of these games use APIs that no longer exist anymore. Most other games work just fine with DOSbox or another emulator.
Umm, Star Control combat mechanics anyone? A fun thought.
Your FPS is better than real life FPS if it could be measured haha.
So I read through the databank and looked up the current events for my Torians. They are ... gulp ... meat for the drengin. That's pretty harsh. Ah well it will make turning Drengin ships into slag so much more enjoyable.
