"Ultimate Shock Troops" is a Drengin/Korath tech, not a Drengin/Drath one. 2. No, it isn't. Here is all it says: "Our shock troops will provide the ultimate shock and awe in our enemies." What you are most likely thinking of is the "Mechanized Warriors" tech from the Thalan. Here is what it

If you mean the Battle Viewer from GalCiv 2, then no, that's not in yet. If you mean space combat in general, then yes, that's already in. However, there are no combat effects at the moment, and destroyed ships simply vanish.
-The GC2 "silliness". Listen, I know GC2 had a really funny thing going on with the descriptions for ships, facilities, etc. It worked with GC2 very well. But it doesn't fit for this game. All the silly descriptions don't fit the amazing graphics, excellent tech tree's, and overall engine improvement. This is GC3, not GC2. Drop the silliness. It worked at one point, but it doesn't work now.
I have to disagree. The humour is a big part of the series. Also

Carriers have been confirmed a long time ago. The devs have talked about them in a bit more detail during the live-streams (either the first or the second one, I don't quite remember), but anything said is still subject to change.

This was already the case in GalCiv 2: DL. As stated on page 16 of the original manual: "Influence is not the same as the borders of one's civilization. To add to the section from the FAQ Crocell44 quoted, here are two posts by Frogboy where he talked about the AI.
One of the biggest changes you'll see in the AI is data mining. Simply put, player ship designs and tactics are going to be stored on the cloud so that the AI can do data mining on it.
