With more people hopping on line, it is getting to where others join your game you are trying to setup with friends. I don't want to be unfriendly, but I shouldn't have to. Please include this soon. PS. I think there is a bug on the galactic map edge that if a faction has an area of influence there, it will show as that factions color on the map edge when you aren't remotely close enough to know about it.

Currently yes you can. It will redraw the border around your new colony. However, with enough influence your colony will flip to the enemy!
That is actually a good idea. I also like a chime in game that signals a constructor is either docked on a base or arrives upon its chosen location. Another idea is after hitting turn the camera snaps to the base and you get 'idle constructor' message on the turn button.
I think the 'idle constructor' is the way to go. I like your idea. Don't automatically dock the constructor, let the use

I think they are changing things so much that time on a tutorial would be wasted as they features would change within weeks of release. It wouldn't hurt to have a basic principles guide though.

Damn, I was hoping they snapped to the battle now. Currently I have no idea once I have several ships what is going on. I also have no clue what it was against!

Might start with a CIV II pdf/guide as some of the core principles are there. Not saying my way is best, and this is general depending on what my planet and faction bonuses are. Essentially at the start, send your scout and survey ships out in different directions to the stars closest. I also send my colony early in a 3rd direction to scout. Once I find a planet 10 or over, I send the colony ship there. Research - I tend to lean toward growth and range bonuses first. Then I go
December 2014: Beta 3 - Combat! Yor Singularity! This is the big combat update. Ground invasions, our new take on fleet combat, and the sinister mechanical Yor join the beta before the end of the year.
Ahhh the Yor... I will have to keep tabs on my roomba. It might be a spy for them. [e digicons]

Looks like happiness was added to the planets as well. Love the extra stuff added. My only criticism in a quick run before going to work was it seems there are an awful lot of black holes. There were 4 in my area of 12 or so explored stars! Perhaps it was an aberration.

Not a bad idea. If that was there, I would probably want a tooltip on the planet list on the right side of the main screen to show me the notes so I don't have to go to the planet screen and open it just to see the notes again.

Don't suppose we could get some patch notes before the beta release? A little something to chew on while we wait? Sooooo would the Beta be released at midnight tonight EDT or some other time Thursday? Curious (OCD) minds want to know!

Many features are not in yet. So as to those useless class 0 planets, I suspect the currently disabled terraforming will be what you are looking for. I believe the ideology tree is essentially something like your government request. Malevelent societies will be hated, etc. The name given to a government doesn't mean it works the same everywhere. Look around our current world. Supposedly Russia is a democracy :p I think they said they were adding more resources. I certainly

Voices in the tech tree of CIV was fun for about one trip through. Now I just zip past it. I do like the historic quotes though. There are PLENTY of actors who wouldn't cost a fortune to do voice. I would rather SD put the money into features, polish and expansions than paying someone to read something slower than I can just read it myself.

I see we pretty much agree Joeball. You beat me to the Huns and Mongols in response. The thing that helped the west dominate the Americas was a tech advantage, but compounded on a germ advantage. When your germs depopulate two continents of people by 90%, it certainly helps a LOT. I recommend looking up "Guns, Germs, and Steel". I don't agree with everything in it, but it lays out pretty well how some societies thrived and left others behind. Really, if you t

I understand why tactical combat isn't going to be added. That said, I wouldn't mind a few changes to combat. 1) Have a time constraint on combat. By that I mean it isn't endless rounds until a ship/fleet wins. It could be set at say 10 rounds per turn (just throwing a number out). After that, both ships/fleets turn is over. This allows reinforcements to come in. This would also make it very hard to kill a starbase or starport with a puny ship. If you are dinging something
The best way I can think of this is in this way. Thanks to the Yor (a collection of rogue AI robotic beings) other races now don't trust automation as much as before. This may have caused a reversion to more manual labor/having an organic overseer. Lower factories are less efficient in their overseer/machine interface the newer ones. An example would be a factory allows for 1 person to produce through automation 10 units of goods. Your work i

I am not a big fan of a "culture victory". To me there are only two ways to rule. 1) Conquest 2) Diplomatic Culture/Influence would help one or the other victory. As long as you are peaceful and your culture is strong, other peaceful nations will be outraged if you are attacked. It would also help you win votes as you are "enlightened" and are showing the way to galactic peace. You attack others and that respect would plummet. The flip side, if you are aggressive and h
1) The AI is just plain bad. I am sure it is being worked on. Good god another AI complaint. People, the AI isn't even implemented yet. They put in a temporary AI just so the enemy will attack you and colonize planets.
It was just an observation in which I even said I am sure it is being worked on. If I didn&#3

I know it is early and the beta patch will probably make a big difference. That said, here are some observations. 1) The AI is just plain bad. I am sure it is being worked on. 2) Research seems to fly along after a while, but buildings take forever. Upgrades also seem insanely high. 3) Larger ships seem rather steep as well. Perhaps I am doing it all wrong. I put about even weight to manufacturing and research. I guess I could use the planet sliders to f
