Oh oh, I spy some pokemon energy symbols in those logos! 😜
Quoting Achronous, reply 58 Oh, how come? Adjacency is way OP, and a pretty major contributor to massive overproduction.
OK fair enough. I suppose it can also reduce micromanagem
Remove all techs that give adjacency bonuses. Oh, how come?
I can't wait to see the return to the Arceans and the Toreans!
I know that I'm likely resurrecting an old thread, but I've only finished playing through all the races recently and started making my custom factions now. I miss the ability to specify exactly which colours I want my faction to be. The body, the trim, primary and secondary colours etc. Why limit to certain palettes only?
I quite like these. They almost pass un-noticed in the game, but they must have taken lots of time and skill to create. To be honest, it's these small details in art and fluff, as well as nice background music that give games the sheen of quality. Thanks for posting this!
I'm surprised to hear that custom races don't get played a lot. I usually play at least one game with each civ and then create a custom civ to pay with. Customisation is so important in GalCiv and we want more. Perhaps allowing complete customisation ( specifying everything from colours to combinations of ship parts) will encourage people to create more custom races? EDIT: I like the senator idea: if you have 100 planets you can ask a sector with
More music is always welcome. I was going to mention before that the current music was getting old, but most people would complain that music is the least of their worries. I'm still a bit annoyed that the music changes whenever I open a different window. Sometimes continuity is better. (I'll try to find an example). At least it's not as bad as in GCII where the same track repeated itself whenever you pressed end turn (thankfully it was sorted out in a patch) <
Fantastic, the game is improving with every patch. Contrary to some people I like the idea of governors. It's exactly what I wanted for planets I didn't want to waste time on, especially when I have a core set of planets I already built up. If people don't like them, then nobody forces you to use them. The production wheel may have helped to specialise each planet a bit more, but how much difference did it make in the end? I haven't used the per planet wheel at all, I stick wi
I've seen this happening a few times. Hit TAB and it will go to the ship with movement points remaining. Usually after this movement is finished then the button will become available. I don't know why this happens though.
Have you stopped indicating minor version releases in the main menu? I can only see v1.2 after update.
Another thing that bugs me late game, but I don't know what others would say: When you are on streak, invading and taking other race's planet so fast that you don't know what to do with them, 2)I would like to have a governor to ask to build only e.g. manufacturying buildings or economy buildings etc.
I'm glad you decided this is important. I'm going to repeat my number one peeve about shipyard micromanagement and the rest will come later: 1) Allow sorting the shipyard list by Hull Size, Weapon Type, Defence Type. Then once the ships are sorted by that, you can apply secondary sorting, by cost, size etc. As an example: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/achronous/Ship
Hey, first post here. I have designed 31 ships for my custom race, all of them hand crafted from scratch, and here are a few: [snip] The rest are on this imgur album, with annotations, because I know you won't like being spammed with images: https://imgur.com/a/CVLsd There are a lot of them so I don't have time to do multi angle shot f
Increased the space for tech descriptions on the tech unlocked screen (some descriptions didn't fit)
I know this is a really small issue, but glad it's fixed. There's so much space on that screen it's mad to have to scroll down to read all of the text!
Try this website, it contains all sorts of useful facts. And it will only get better with time: http://galciv3.gamepedia.com/Official_Galactic_Civilizations_III_Wiki
Update: I installed the new 1.01 patch and started a new game and played for about 2 hours so far. I haven't got a crash. Hopefully that will continue!
The answer to your first question is in the opening cinematic! Did you not see the Crusader emerging from the pocket universe, along with a fleet? Also there are blurbs in the first and second missions where they mention the pocket universe. Typos and grammar agreed, they need to be fixed throughout the game.
At least it works now. There were major bugs in the beta, crashing the game. I'm sure it will evolve to something better, but it's never going be anything like tactical combat. That's not the scope of the GalCiv3.
Yeah, I should've checked the date before replying too... Let it sink!
Those are resources that contribute to building prototype weapons and components. Sorry I thought you were talking about something else... The dead planets thing is a separate issue, however for now they are just that, dead planets.
Disable Steam Cloud in Steam's general settings not only for this game. Then go in the game and delete it. It won't come back. (at least that's how it worked for me).
There are plans for dead planets as per Stardock staff mentioned in live streams. Probably will be in an expansions though...
I don't mind if they get saved. You get the added bonus of seeing your ships in the next game when the AI starts using them. If you have good sorting then you can find the offending ships easily and delete them anyway.
I'm really rubbish at designing nice spaceships. Most are cobbled together random parts, then components added. Here's one that doesn't look completely ridiculous: (well it does but for other reasons!) This Eye of the Universe, a sensor ship for the Altarians:
