One thing that bugs me in the shipyard window is how difficult is to go through the long list of ships. To make it more readable and user-friendly I suggest sorting buttons and tabs are introduced. These are already implemented in the designer and could easily be ported to the shipyard. I suggest starting with at least the basics: sort the list by Hull Size, Weapon Type, Defence Type. Then once the ships are sorted by that, you can apply secondary sorting, by cost, size etc. It

I hadn't. I was set to about 8GB. I changed it to 18 GB but I still got a crash. I had the task manager open and the memory didn't even reach the maximum so I don't think it's that. I managed to get a screenshot of the effect I sometimes see before a crash: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/achronous/before%20crash.png

Well, I upgraded to more RAM and still got crashes. So it might be something else. I'm sending tickets as it crashes... EDIT: Ticket number #RPO-914-62329 EDIT: I'm just grasping at straws here, could the first generation i7 (Nehalem) have anything to do with it?

It should be in your ProgramData folder. Try pressing Windows Key+R then paste this in %programdata%\Stardock\Galactic Civilizations III The screens should be there. Also the stream mentioned is this one: http://www.twitch.tv/stardock/v/5065938 It's about two hours long though and I don't remember when exactly he mentioned it, I'm sorry...

I got something similar. I deleted the old folder since beta and reinstalled. If the Steam cloud saving was disabled it certainly didn't work, as my old saves reappeared. I had to to turn it off at Steam's general Cloud Saving to get it to stop.

Weird. Mine was turned off or unavailable, but it still grabbed my old beta saves even though I reinstalled and renamed the previous directories...

Don't kick yourself DivineWrath. Not everybody has time to playtest everything. I know I didn't either. You can still enjoy the game from now and contribute if you want. I would have prefered hotkeys early on as well, but in the grand scheme of things does it really matter? Go and play the game when it's ready and just enjoy. It's a game after all!

I think I'm pretty sure now the fog plays an important role. I don't know if this is in combination with lower RAM. I just continued the game I was playing with where I was getting crashes. I had now almost completely cleared the unexplored areas and had no fog of war in my main playing area. My game didn't crash at all. I then decided to check if there was any fog left and I found a few patches at the edge. Immediately the game stuttered significantly. Importantly i

Interesting. I never got a warning like that. Mine just crashes usually after a click on the end turn. Actually I noticed yesterday that the game is unstable in the beginning and then irons itself out and I can play for longer periods. I e, I get three crashes when I first start playing, then on the fourth load it's much more stable. EDIT: I've come to the realisation that the fog of war might be a contributory factor in these crashes. I've always ha

I'm trying to reproduce the quick build window and post it here. In the meantime I found another instance: The upgrade ship window, see my picture here .

I think for most people it's safe to leave this on to system managed. I tend to set it to a fixed amount, at least twice my RAM.

Hiya, I just wanted to report that as of the 6.1 beta, like you said, most of the text clipping is gone from different description windows. There's one hangover that got missed, in the quick build window of the shipyards! If I see it anywhere else I will update!

I play it on minimum and it plays smoothly. I tried higher settings and it's still ok, only stutteres when bloom UI is on and anti-aliasing turned up. But you would expect that. Even the largest maps I don't expect to be able to play without significant delay with specs near the minimum. I expect people to be able to play without any crashes even with the barest minimum specs however. Since the optimisation is still underway hopefully the source of the crashes will be found ou

It's Radeon 6800 series. I did say my system is getting on a bit ;) But still above the minimum requirements! I did install the game in a different drive than Windows, not that it should make any difference though...

I think I agree with you. I was having problems in the first half of the game, but after a certain turn (I need to check now) the crashes stopped (until the invasion battle screen bug showed up). However could the lower memory be exacerbating other crash factors? I'll leave that to SD to investigate as I don't know. Upgrading to more RAM is an option, but since the min requirements for the game are listed as 4 GB then it should still work (albeit with not all map option for ex
