Oh yes, please! Maybe a few models based on the ships for each race!
Achronous
As long as it's not gonna make PCs explode or overheat, I'm... willing to give it a try ;) :P
I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I vote to keep the fluff numbers/text onscreen: Not only because it's fun and meaningful (more than a plain number), but it also presents an 'anchor' point, to say. It makes splitting the information into more easily digestible parts in my mind and you get what you need faster. Which is the whole point of a UI and the data presented. Better than just a bunch of numbers thrown in a column!
Quite interesting, I have to say. Are we getting any more or that's it for the Iridium? Looking forward to backstories for all the new races, andmore on the previous ones, like the Drengin and the Altarians.
Looks similar to the Arnor ships in GalCivII... EDIT: But the Terran survey ship in the Vault looks sw--eet!
... I was expecting some new screenshots... *.* but this whets the appetite...
Nice. Starbases were definitely one of my favourite 'units' in GalCiv2. Making them more useful would be great. I would like them to be a bit more powerful as well, I hate having to leave a ship behind to defend even the most useless starbase because the AI would beehive for them.. What I would like maybe some modules that specialise production starbases to one of science, social or military.
Unfortunately humans seem have to have a skin obsession... Come to think about it, so do Drengin, of the crispy kind ;)
Logan, when you read the whole thread you'll find out... :)
It would be nice if way the content is presented changed as well as Frogboy said he would do. A grid of thumbnails would work infinitely (or at least noticeably) better than a list of files that are only downloadable). :) Would that make it too easy for people to hotlink? I'm sure there's a way out.
I think the idea of upgradability might miss the whole point of the box. 'PC enthusiasts' might not have any problem upgrading it, but if these are directed towards ordinary people/console audience then they might not know how to upgrade the box anyway.
Do you get any endorsement/commission from Amazon or is this purely your preference? (i.e. is this a commercial?) :P
When I saw the video I thought it really looked like Sins as well. Great news, perhaps now we get over the plateau we've reached in the games we love the most!
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and looking forward to the New Year!! Happy holidays to all! :)
Is this the Nitrous engine, I forgot. Can we name it Loquat instead? :D It has multiple seeds inside which fits in perfectly with multiple threads :P
Merry Christmas everyone and to Stardock, and happy holidays. May the New Year bring health and love, and lots of productivity, to Stardock especially;) Enjoy your time and come back refreshed! :)
I would play hotseat games and I would like the game to have the option. In fact, I'm more likely to play hotseat games rather than online multiplayer games. But first and foremost I'm a single-player, campaign kind of player :P :)
I think I would support the idea of all Founders getting alpha access, but I don't think that Stardock is lacking professionalism by doing this. Perhaps they were trying to separate the two programs slightly too aggressively, or they might have been aiming the lower program to people who want to support the game but won't bother playing the alpha. But, since the poiint of the alpha is to improve the game and since Founders are supposed to be the most supportive fans, I think e
Perhaps we should have a Bioware offtopic forum where these games can be discussed ;)
If you go to the main website ( www.galciv3.com ) you will see the pictures of the Drengin and the Altarians. These are what they will look like in the diplomacy screen and Frogboy said that they will be fully animated. If you become a founder you can see a full diplomacy screen in the Founder's vault and I think it will be like you suggested. I don't know though if the animations will be prerendered or not. About voice acting: I think I'
I quite like the optional prerequisites idea and especially the other 'vague' options that might nudge you to choose some technology over another. Perhaps these can be linked to ideologies and be unlockable as well. The only problem I can see for now is if it gets too complicated in the end! Well done, nice post!
I bought my copy in UK and Paradox was the publisher. I remember that it had a small Paradox logo movie in the beginning of the game, but after reinstalling/updating the movie was gone as it was how Stardock intended :P
But the rest of us don't get any popups
I would suggest you go to Control Panel> Uninstall a program (assuming you have windows 7) and uninstall any tooolbars and programs that you think are spamware. If you are not sure and don't want to uninstall stuff that you might need, ask a friend that might know or take it to a shop. I would also invest in a good antivirus such as avast or avira or whatever and update it and let it full scan your PC for viruses. If all this fails you might need to format your PC and reinstall windows
