Back in early GCIII I was totally on the scale speed/research/etc to map size bandwagon. But I think scaling admin directly to map size from the start of the game would be a huge mistake. Here's why: 1. Puts undo emphasis on colony rush. 2. would make tall empires unviable. 3. Removes the need to balance the opportunity costs of advancement.

I would love to play a game with you if I am free at the time. [e digicons]:)[/e]
I found 7-8 theemperor, but none theemperor2812. What's your country? Hope to do some epic multiplayer games after Crusade is out.
I'm very interested in multiplayer, but not quick one session games on fastest speed. I'm in on multi-session longer games with trusted players that are added as Steam-friends, and that are playing on preset times, or with just 1-3 more humans (+AI) that are often at Steam most evenings.
Wow! That's what I call a diary!

I wanted live coverage of Brad at GDC.
I'm really hoping that the lads at eXplorminate haven't been given access to Crusade before we have had a chance to look at it... Haven't had time to listen to their podcast as I'm busy working still but that would be like rubbing salt into my wounds!
I hope they have, so we hopefully can watch some LP's.

Isn't there production overflow? Just build something else and more expensive after a small ships and no prod. is wasted.

Wow, great diary. I loved this read. All the X's have gotten some love with this expansion. I'm excited to see how ressources and less non brainer starting strategies will draw me into this game again. I suspect we will get some very interesting gameplay out of this.

The Frog has spoken, may his will be manifested into reality.
Will we trusted founding fathers get an opt-in of the current Crusade version to play, now mid february? Did Brad mention that, or did I dream again?
Crusade was meant to be a stand-alone after all, so hard to say.
Once again my faith in Stardock is rewarded. If these changes are as good as they sound I think Gal Civ III may just have surpassed Gal Civ II. Can't wait! [e digicons][/e]
Indeed. Time to replace GalCiv2 with GalCiv3. :)
New Economy, here I come!
All the decisions to make. Can't wait to experience the new gameplay. I'd love some slowed down expansion too, and requiring one of these population units (or more) to travel on the colony ship would make those expansion choices a ton more interesting. I'm so curious to see how this pop-mechanism works and how it effects the overall gameplay. So much great potential. And yes, can't wait playing multiplayer with Crusades.

I think Froggie Boy said january, so hopefully today!
