I think it's fixed in the new 1.3, it was a problem related to money :) But I don't want to disable surrenders, given the AI's tendancy to spam ships&starbases everywhere it was tedious to run them down.
Removed Ultra Transformer improvement. Remove all techs that give adjacency bonuses.
Why? I know the AI can't compete with a human on this, but isn't it a cop-out? You artificially handicapp a player be

Sort order As it is now, if you sort a planet by order of happyness and go into the colony to make adjustement, when you come back, the order has been resetted to the default one. This should be changed so that the order remains fixed until you change it. Changing production Currently, you can sort planets by what they produce, nor can you globally change your production in one (or very few clicks). If I&#39

Wow. I've started a new game with 1.3, my 1.2 game was stuck. Back in 1.01, surrenders were just allright. With 1.2, it seemed like a race would almost never surrender, even when they had 0 planets left and 0 transport ships, only warships. Now in 1.3... First the Drengin surrender to the Iridium while we're about equal strenght, then the Iconians surrender to me with 1/4 of the galaxy....
Is this patch for everyone or just founders? I just started a new game and would hate for the new patch to cause any issues with my current game.
for future reference, there are no "Founders only" patches. There are sometimes "opt-in" patches, meaning you need to manually select the beta patch, before it's officially released, but they are open to everyone who select them.
Right now morale is completely worthless in this game. It starts off fine, but as my empire grows that damn large empire penalty gets brutal. I am on insane map as the Terran alliance, with 10 AI, challenge difficulty. My overall morale is 3, with the moral on Earth herself only being at 61% with a stadium. I currently have 109 planets, I have Affinity in Benevolent to level 5 noble, I have 3 Harmony crystals, I have 2 Morale relics with starbases on them with each
Give me a break. This thread is nearly pointless as you are asking for an opinion. GCII has benefited from 10+ years of DLC and 3 major expansions. Come back to this game after 10 years and ask this question again. GCIII is FAR better by light years. Native 64 bit, Hexes, Adjacency bonuses, Better ship designer, Better color and textures, Minable strategic resources, Improv
## AI Expectations ## Anyone who has had to deal with me on forums knows that I have very limited patience for arm-chair AI designers. I'm old and cranky. [e digicons];)[/e] If you're participating in these discussions, here are a few ground rules you need to understand: 1. Nearly all players play at either beginner or easy. And by nearly all, I mean 90%. This has always been the case and will always be the cas

Re: Galciv III and most other games&software: if it works on Windows 7/8/8.1 without a fuss, it will work on Windows 10. Caveat: there may be driver compatibilities for games for a few months, nothing critical, but you may expect some performance losses or instability for some games. It's hard to get a full picture until Win10 is officially out in the wild, but from what I heard on other games, it's pretty stable, and some major studios are already using it. It
Has anyone experienced freezes while playing the game, in particular while scrolling the map? I'm playing an a Lenovo Yoga 2 with only 4GB of ram. Due to its limited memory I have been only playing the Tiny or Small maps. This Lenonvo still has all the manufacturer's bloatware installed so maybe I can save memory by disabling some services from running on startup. I also have not updated the drivers on this

Since they are unique to one per player, should I always try to trade them away if I have more than 1? If I receive a trade resource in a trade, do I have to do anything with it or is it a passive bonus for 50 turns?
I have a correlary question to that... Let's say the Alt

IIRC, in GC2, a defense provided 1/3 of its efficiency against other weapon types. 100 armor would provide 33 defense against missiles. Is that still the case?
The Terran AI decided to be nice to me when he lost and gave me all his assets. Wow thanks right?, nope. He was in dept and i ended up with -1400 in balance. My strategies involved to only have money to pay for maintenance so when this hit me I lost the game. Had to wait a lot of turns to get my balance over 0. And when it did the noting resumed. I Could not produce anything nor research. Gee, thanks for that gift... next time die in silence. <br /
I wonder how well GalCiv3 would be being received if Stardock had put out a press release on Release Date: Here it is, folks. Galactic Civilizations III!!! Finished. Done. No updates. No DLCs. No Expansions. Any complaints? We'll include some of 'em in GalCiv4." In other words, there's an acceptance that while a reviewer would like to see a certain thing, they're giving Stardock leeway for including that in th
