What Ron said. While I'm sure Stardock is shooting for that release date, it's entirely possible -- if not probable -- that it could be pushed back a few days/weeks.

Actually, Brad Wardell ( Frogboy ) says what happend right here in the recent Gamasutra preview : "Some years ago, Atari approached us because we had talked about doing a fantasy strategy [game]," Wardell recalled. "We made an agreement, then their legal people killed the deal in terms of everything that was required." "They wanted to own everything w

I actually already caught this one yesterday. Some very good stuff. I've yet hear a single thing about this game that doesn't make me salivate with anticipation. [e digicons][/e] (Yay, the smilies are working again!)
Will this be made available for Galactic Civilizations II:Dread Lords?
I second this question. More pertinently, is there any reason to get the 2.0 update if I only have DL? Or do all the new changes/fixes apply to DA/TA only?

So exactly what kind of diplomatic options will we have, anyway? Are they going to be anything like what's in GalCiv 2?

While I'm not fond of the game overall, one feature from Rome Total War that I've always liked was that lowly Captains (who had no special abilities or attributes) could -- after winning a few battles -- sometimes be promoted to General and join your faction's family. I would love to see something like this in Elemental. For example, perhaps a basic infantry unit leading a small army might accru enough battle experience that eventually he "transforms" into a

I just had to say I love the runes around the edges of (what I'm guessing is) the box cover art. Very cool; nice touch. :) (Who did them, by the way?)
This game looks like crap. Fantasy is really been-there-done-that.
Thank you for your constructive comments. Truly, it is an in-depth and well thought-out critique.
What a way to mess with success, Stardock. Why no Galciv III? Why?
Because a lot of people want an open-world 4x game set in a fantasy setting, of which there are

I'm a lot less concerned with how a game looks than how it *plays*. So long as the graphics are at least functional and I can make out everything reasonably well, anything else (visual-wise) is just gravy. Also, I'm loving the size of the game world. That map looks freakin' huge! Can't wait to play this game. Everything about it sounds totally sweet. :)

Well I *was* eagerly looking forward to Red Alert 3, until EA announced it was shipping with SecuROM and a 5-install limit. So now I'm never getting it. [e digicons]:'([/e] As it is, the only new game I'm likely to pick up in the next 6 months is Empire Total War. And even that one I'm still iffy on....
I can stand this no longer! Why do so many great games have this copy protection? I can feel Red Alert 3 calling me. "buy me! Buy ME!"
I know the feeling, believe me. I've been a big fan of the Red Alert series from the beginning, and had even gone so far as to pre-order RA3 -- something I *never* do. However, I immediately cancelled my pre-order on finding out it was going to include SecuROM and that absurd 5-install
