Strategy titles are my favorite by far -- they easily make up at least 70% of my game collection. RPG's and combat sims (such as Klingon Academy and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron) are a distant 2nd and 3rd, and I don't really play much in the way of other genres.

Sorry about your dog, man. You wouldn't think that a pet dying should affect you as much as it does, but it's always a hard loss to bear. My condolences.

Gabal, does Born of Blood introduce ground combat at all? Or is blowing away enemy planets still your only option?

Never mind. Saw the answer [link="http://www.wargamer.com/news/news.asp?nid=5636"]here[/link]. :)

Interesting. Out of curiosity, why is there a new demo out anyway? Was there something wrong with the original demo?

The first PC game I ever played was Castles II. The first PC game I actually purchased and played on my own computer was Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Ah yes, good times, good times.... :D

Imperium Galactica 2: While it's an older game (it was released in 2000), it's still a pretty solid 4x title, and (unlike most space strategy games), it's in real-time. If you can handle the graphics of an 8 year-old game, odds are good you'd enjoy it. :)

Well let's see: First, Stardock has to get The Political Machine out in time for this year's election, after which Brad's putting virtually everyone on the (as yet to be announced) fantasy TBS game. Plus there's Society, which while it likely won't be coming to fruition anytime soon, they still have to try and work on that when they can. Not to mention GalCiv 3 (hopefully someday).... ;) Yeah, I don't think they're going to have time to make EotFS 2 anytime soon. Even if they did

Congrats, Stardock; you've done it again! :D
Also did anyone else notice that the text review alluded to galciv III - I think they might be mistaken about it being next in the pipeline.
Yeah, I saw that too. Unless Brad knows something we don't, then I agree there was a miscommunication somewhere along the way. :p
Circle Pines, MN originally from Staten Island, NY via Anaheim, Ca.
Good gravy, there certainly do seem to be a lot of Minnesotans on these boards (I live over by Minneapolis). :) How on earth did you wind up in our fair state (via Staten Island and Anaheim, no less)?
Happy Birthday. This is the first case of truly appropriate thread necromacy that I've seen. Good bump.
I second that. Happy Birthday, mate! :CONGRAT:

I think it's a given that Stardock would like to make a sequel....eventually. As pndrev pointed out, however, they have more than enough on their plates to keep themselves occupied for the next few years. Given that, I think that realistically we won't see GalCiv 3 until at least 2011 -- maybe even later, in all honesty.

In the interests of full disclosure, please note that I've not necessarily played some of these strategy games a whole lot, but I've at least taken a crack at (and in most cases, have also owned) all the ones listed. Also note that I'm excluding any games for which I've only played the demo version (so I'm not going to list Dominions 3, Sins of a Solar Empire, etc.): Herzog Zwei (the forefather of the modern RTS, playable only on the Sega Genesis) Command & Conquer: Re

Apologies if this was already posted elsewhere, but I found it pretty interesting. Brad mentions (among other things) a few of the details regarding Stardock's still-to-be-announced fantasy strategy game. Enjoy! Link

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that. LEI was only an okay game, but it had a lot of potential. It'll be a pity if Pollux goes under -- they're clearly gamers at heart just as we are. (:(

Ooh! Pretty ships! :)
The fantasy game has been announced. Stardock is collaberating with Gas Powered Games to build the game. So far the screenshots look pretty cool and the overview of the game looks interesting.
Stardock has previously stated that Demigod is *not* their new fantasy TBS game. That still has yet to be announced.
