Weren't green and purple stars introduced into GalCiv for the purpose of indicating that there was something special about.. or within, the solar system, perhaps that they had an extra high quality planet, or that there was something special about one of the planets orbiting the star? With my fabulous memory (I can even remember things that never happened [e digicons][/e] ), I do remember them being added during the test cycle of either GC1 or GC2.
I still find it pretty slow, actually. The Drengin used fission power for propulsion, yet they weren't capable of achieving even 0.03% light-speed? Also, carrying the stargate shouldn't have that big effect on the speed, anyhow. The Drengin only needed enough power to start moving the mass. Once that was achieved, they would need the engines only for occasional course corrections and slowing down, once they got close enough to
There are 15 tiles on a side of a sector and 7 is less than half that. Wouldn't your sweet spot have to be one above or below the middle of an edge if the area of effect was only a diameter of 15 in order to get the affect of more than just the one adjacent sector? (Note, I tried checking this with the game I am playing but since the map size is immense all I was able to do was to check the influence boundary around one of my Starbases sitting in an isolated spot on the map. I just checked GC1 and GC2 and the largest map size went up one size between the Ultimate versions of each, from Gigantic to Immense. With the change to hex tiles in the map, I am wondering how sizes will compare with GC3. Are we talking about apples
When playing on the bigger maps, and engaging in war, it is often annoying how long it takes to get new ships from one side of the map to the other. I have a few ideas for a one time boost. 1) when building the ships, have a ship part that is a one time use rocket that gives a quick burst of speed across the galaxy. 2) be able to open up a ship info screen and pay for a boost of speed (liquid schwartz) 3) be able to use

Speaking of system requirements, has anyone noticed the recent rash of driver updates for the GeForce GT200, GT300, GT400, GT500, GT600, and GT700 series of NVidia drivers? I think I have received at least 3 new updates in the last 2 months.
the GoG guys seem ok though.
From a user's perspective they may seem ok, but Brad has to look at their track record of how accountable they have been to the software development companies. How often the reports are is beside the point if the reports are not accurate. As he said: "GOG has a number of issues for developers. It doesn't provide retail-time reports. Instead, every quarter we get a report on how many units

Wouldn't it be neat to see an alien that had six appendages, three legs and three arms? Sort of like the "Medusans" in David Weber's first "Honor Harington" book "On Basilisk Station".
And don't forget, Frogboy said that GOG does not provide the sales accountability developers need. That was in reply # 176 of thread https://forums.galciv3.com/449009. After seeing that reply again I am definitely voting NO on GOG.

WOW. I completely forgot about the trailer for GC1. Now I remember seeing it, first in pieces, then in one piece. The little girl with the teddy bear really impressed me, and is what makes me think the GC1 trailer was the best of the three. I also remember that the first trailer initially challenged low end GPUs pretty heavily and they had to tweak it to make it better. One thing worries me, though. The trailer for GC3 leaves me wondering if GC3 will be the last of the series.
