I go for the planet rush as fast as I can, so if my home planet doesn't come with a shipyard (it used to -- why was that taken away) I get one as fast as I can.

IIRC, you can not affect a saved game by changing the mods because the mods in affect at the start of a new game are saved with the saved game.
It takes an administrator to build a constructor, colony ship, or surveyor ship. Administrators are assigned when construction of a ship begins. If the construction of a ship is canceled the administrator is returned to the administrator pool. When a constructor is used to build a starbase, the constructor's administrator is transferred to the starbase. When a colony ship is used to build a colony the ship's administrator is transferred to the colony. When any of these ships is destroyed by a
I have passed right next to planets of Civs with which I have yet to establish communications. It is only when I pass close to one of their ships than communications is established. Why? Shouldn't it work in both cases????
OK. This has gotten quite frustrating. I am reaching for the button to close a sub-screen and I unconsciously reach for and click on the big red "X" at the top right of the main screen. AAARRRGGG. I didn't really want to exit the game!!!! Especially without saving!! And, why, oh why, do I keep on doing that??? I do believe GC1 and GC2 intercepted this process and asked if I really wanted to quit. And I have seen many other games that had the same protection. This really needs to be an
This problem still has not been fixed. It is showing up on 2.5.
Well, I am glad to see that Island Dog has the same problem with this forum server code that we do. (Two identical threads, from what looks like it must have been one submission.)
I wonder if the discrepancy is with "base mass" vs "ship-size adjusted mass"? That would make sense, if weapons show the same on both screens, but support modules show different.
Grimm, have a look at the links in reply # 7 to get a complete picture of what is displayed and where the differences are. While what you say makes sense I doubt it matches what the snapshots captured, or in the
This problem persists in Crusades.
I just discovered something about performance: I had noticed that when I booted my computer it was taking gradually longer and longer to complete the boot-up. Same for shut-down. Then I updated my graphics driver (Geforce GT 640) and suddenly my computer booted and shut down fast again. Hope this helps someone.
The date display dates back to GalCiv for OS2. The game's story line has the game starting at a particular date.
The issue here is that previous GC versions gave us the option of specifying a playlist.
I have to agree. GC2 allowed us to build our own play lists and tell GC2 where they were. Why was this dropped from GC3? It should not have been dropped.
But yeah....no...you can't do that to people. It would change the human body's angle in the water, which would further disadvantage the best athletes, and on top of that, it would likely cause injuries due to the changed mechanics for arms, shoulders, and elbows.
Not to mention causing them to sink and drown. :-O
Obviously the devs will have to make a code change to allow this.
Perhaps I should simplify my request like this: Please give us the ability to change which mouse button is assigned to each of the functions currently assigned to mouse buttons to other mouse buttons. I have also changed the subject title to make this clearer. It is not to find a specific pre-assigned tile, nor to display the map with that tile centered. It is a function that already works with the LMB (left mouse button),. When you click the LMB on any spot on the main map, the main
Does anyone know where this is? I tried "Options" -> "Input" which is where the optional key assignments are, but I am unable to find an action that looks right. Currently clicking the left mouse button over a spot on the map allows me to center the main map on that spot, and click and hold of the left mouse button allows me to drag the main map within the window. Other games, some too old to expect any chance of their being changed, use the middle mouse button for this function and I have

Of course, CIV made a few mistakes in its series -- the worst one was when Sid decided no-one was interested in large maps when he created CIV3. I still like CIV2 the best, but since it is unplayable on current levels of Window I occasionally play my second favorite level, CIV5. I have tried CIV6 and find it my least favorite. I even prefer (and play in a DOSBOX) the original CIV (available from Steam) to CIV3 and CIV6. Now, if I could just get a playable remake of CIV2 on Steam.
There are still many sorts needed for lists. One (of many) that is particularly needed is the sorting of the lists in a ship's goto lists and the addition of uncolonized planets to the goto list with sorts for planet quality and distance from the selected ship. Currently the attempt to decide which planet (in the larger galaxy sizes) to send a colony ship is clumsy, error prone, and time consuming.
The support site login is not the same as your Stardock account, you have to create a support account for that. Not sure if you trying that.
That may be the problem, Thanks.
Thanks, Kryo. BTW, this is the second time I have tried to open a ticket and gotten rejected. Is there something wrong with the site? Or has the reporting method changed from what is at https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Knowledgebase/Article/View/496/161/general-galactic-civilizations-iii-troubleshooting</
While in my turn on Crusade Win8.1 gave me a message that a severe system error occurred, that it had received a condition "IRQL not equal or less than" (or something very similar). After gathering some error information the OS shut down and restarted. I tried to log on to the Stardock problem reporting site but was unable to, nor was I able to use the "lost password" function. I downloaded a fresh copy of the SDSupportTool.exe and used it to attempt to gather data for a ticke
Auto-upgrade is also a constant irritant for me. Please put a master toggle in for this.
