Never bothers me, except those times i had a hard time finding the saved game folder!
I managed to have the foresight to buy a 64 bit system five years ago (windows Vista) and now i hear Galciv3 will only run on 64 bit systems! But since my computer is now five years old,,,, i dunno?? I cannot remember the stats of my computer exactly (I'm at work right now) but it is what you would call a 'mid range' gaming system five years ago, purchased from an online Ebay store.
I wonder if the OP has played Alpha Centauri? I think that game more closely matches Galciv, and you can design your own units, but not as good as Galciv. But even more closely matching is the Civilization Call to power 1 and 2, whereby 1 actually has a space level, and the combat system in Call to power (armies) is actually superior (in my opinion) to Galciv save for the useless Call to power AI. I say the Call to power combat system is superior because it recognizes the way 'fro

I found a good use for my old disks.... keep them neatly stacked near my computer as always and continue the illusion they are valuable. My 2 year old child won't walk past the disks (she has to grab them and play with them) and therefore my computer is kept safe!

Classical music is good when your concentrating on the game, but normally i find most classical music a bit dull - especially Mozart. I did not like civ5, cannot remember why, something spooked me about it when i first played it. Civ 4 is brilliant but also disappointing at the same time. I used to think similar to the OP but my main objection to digital downloads is that you don't own the game. I say that because a game that you buy off the shelf in a box, if you wanted to, you could sell it (i know there are more and more exceptions these days), because you can sell things that belong to you. You cannot sell a digital download, and therefore it cannot be defined as being your own property. What i think these days is that digital downloads are brilliant! Because i
