I have Vista on my desktop and 7 on a laptop (I never use), I have zero interest in upgrading my desktop to 7. Doing so would just require me to once again go through everything and strip out all the useless crap I don't want. I'd still be using windows 3.1 if it was possible, I don't need my OS doing a lot of pointless stuff, I just want explorer to manage my files and shor
About multitple opponents. If memory serves, Jagged Alliance 2 allowed multiple sides battles with possibilities of interrupts. There even were four siders (Deidrana forces, Militia, local fauna and our mercenaries). I exclude civilians and alike, they rarely participated in combats, and even if they did, generally in small numbers. So in theory there could be possibility of "interrupts" should someone left "action points" during
Doesn't make sense that there would be any issues making it run on Vista if 64bit and Dx11 are the requirements, the (windows) OS itself shouldn't be important it's just the Dx11 and 64bit part that matter. I'm hoping it was an oversight on the FAQ, since it's so unpopular maybe whoever typed up the FAQ forgot about Vista or that it was Dx11 or had 64 bit versions.
So we definitely need DX 11
Quoting Mystikmind, reply 24That's interesting, i would not have thought to concern myself with overheating because I'm not doing any overclocking. I should have mentioned that I also am not doing any overclocking. It would appear that CPU and GPU manufacturers have gotten wise to those that do. Also, some games work CPUs and GPUs very hard. It doesn't take overclocking to crank up enough heat to fry any CPU
Yea all these kinds of possibilities. Allot of 'problems' have already been solved in other games that use reaction moves. For example, as far as movement is concerned, reaction moves can only use movement left over from the previous turn, therefore you would always have full mobility at the start of your turn. This would also create good strategical potential because you have to think about how far you will push your fleet and how much reaction movement it will be left with?<
Overheating. I found this an interesting subject during the last year while trying to play Civ 5. Here are a couple of the things I learned -- 1) Most CPUs and GPUs will monitor their own temperature and will "declock" themselves if their internal temperature gets above the device's safe threshold. I was amazed at how high that temperature was, on my old computer, the CPU's max safe temperature was about 163 degre
I,m not sure i have noticed any problem as you describe?? Although in Galciv 2 i did find that influence was often very time consuming to trade - The more advanced the game the more difficult to set the level of influence to the maximum the AI will accept.
As far as I know if the game gets stuck in a loop doing something very heavy then it will tax the system and push it to its max. If the system is already at its thermal limit, damage may occur. I suppose if there is a problem with the PC now would be the time when the problem would occur.
Well, if the computer is driven at maximum capacity by a program for whatever reason and it causes overheating, don't
Overheating games have been known to cause PC problems. Maybe not immediately, but soon. I'd rather the game won't play than frying my CPU and/or graphics card. Remember the throttle frame rate box in the settings of GalCiv2??
No, a game cannot exceed the maximum safe capacity of the hardware, it is totally illogical, you can only run as fast as you can run, because that is your limit. Your not going to run any fast

Why is it that reaction moves seem to have been forgotten? Is it because it is too exploitable verses AI? Reaction moves play a very significant part in some very old strategy games that i really love, and i see no reason why it could not make a game like Galciv3 even more brilliant? Reaction moves are pretty much exactly that - reactions to the moves another player makes during that other players turn. Imagine this if you will - your fleet approaches an
