I would love to see a new WOM, but.... I played WOM original (not so much the subsequent patches) far more than FE! I think for my own taste, the direction the game went in with WOM patches and FE, it was allot like 'whack a mole' .... knock a number of game aspects on the head - both good and bad, then an equal number of new moles pop up - both good and bad. Or in other words, one step forward, one step back! The net result is that the game is not really gettin

I have always found the limitations of AI diplomacy and often strategy always spoils my enjoyment of factions. So be they Green blobs that poop gold or whatever, its all the same in the end,,, they will all want to kill you, and or foolishly betray you/attack you or stubbornly refuse to attack at all. You just don't see all these wonderful game factions uniqueness supported with in game play, but i look forward to the day when it does!
I used to have this problem allot, but then i realized the simple solution.... all ships i design, get saved before adding any active components. Then each game i play, i will add components and use the ships according to whichever way technology/circumstances lead and then delete these ships as soon as they are all upgraded or otherwise no longer in play for whatever reason, but always i keep the 'template' ships. Also saving all your ship designs without components means the
In X3, there is a division of weapons that i think would work very well in Galciv 3..... More powerful weapons are less effective against smaller ships but more effective against larger ships! Well that is a rather narrow generalisation,,, it gets into details such as Flack cannons which are supremely effective against fighters but almost useless against other capital ships, or Photon Pulse cannons which are deadly to other capital ships but almost useless against fighters. You have to balanc
I haven't seen anyone mention the problem with the balance between weapons and defenses? Now i may be mistaken but i always thought the three types of weapons and the three types of defenses were supposed to make for interesting strategies for people to enjoy? Why then turn around and make defenses completely moot by failing to keep up with high end weaponry and therefore completely destroy the whole point of the three weapon and defense types????
I hope Brad remembered to have the secret Steam hypnotic codes removed from the brains of the Civ 5 team?
Possibly the OP has missed out on one aspect of fleet battles in Galciv 2? You can easily use a mix of ship sizes in a fleet, the trick is to use older weapons/less firepower on the smaller ships so the AI will not target them first. I like to have just 1 or 2 expensive ships in each fleet then use up the logistics with very cheap tiny hulled ships which are as powerful as they can be without attracting enemy fire (this depends on how powerful the main ships are). But unfortun
My first PC game that i loved.... hmmm well there were several games that i used to love on my first ever computer which was an Amiga 2000. For those that don't already know.... you may have heard of the famous Commodore 64 but it is unlikely you will have ever heard of an Amiga, i never did, not in the media, not in magazines, not a whisper. Only found out about Amiga when my friend introduced me to it. I said "what the hells an Amiga" and with those words i unwittingly defined the very
As a veteran and big fan of all the galciv games so far, i am eager to play galciv3 as well. The one attribute which has always escaped Galciv games that i have also mentioned in previous game forums is 'reaction moves'. Reaction moves are moves that units can make in response to the actions of the current player whose turn it is. For example, an enemy fleet on 'overwatch' set to respond when one of your fleets gets too close. When you trigger th
