It's so limiting for modders to make video background and foreground because of the use of Bink 2. Bink 1 would have been fine, but because of the transparency, there wasn't a choice and instead they had to use bink 2. And bink 2 is a licensed so that would cost money. Everything works now, steam somehow thought the game wasn't installed after the patch. Game was installed and all the files and directories were there. Had to delete folder manually and then reinstall the game again. Works fine now.

Been a fan of Stardock products for a long time. And I'm am very excited that Star Control was acquired by Stardock, it is by far my most favorite game of all time. I still play it once in a while now that SC2 is free and I still have SC3, although game runs too fast on my machine. Anyways, what lead to the acquisition of Star Control series and any thoughts on getting the Starflight series?

Frogboy, I've been playing Galciv series since it first came out, my account can attribute to that and I have been a big Stardock supporter since I've heard of your company in 2003. Would also like to say that my favorite game of all time is the Star Control series since I played the first one on the Genesis and now that it is in Stardock's possession, it is very exciting. Couldn't you edit the base files in the game directory itself to create an .xml race without having mod enabled? Not sure why you would want that since it can screw up the game without having a way to reverse it. I mean outside of just uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

How do I edit my custom created faction? I just created a faction and would like to mess around with the .xml file to make some changes. Where can I find it, I looked in the mygame\galciv3 folder where I placed the custom race forground and emblem art, but can't seem to find the .xml file for the race I just created. Any help would be great. Thanks,

Would be nice if dev did it, but I know realistically, its a slim chance. As a mod, I guess limits can be put on either hull size or weapons or both. Don't want to limit colony ships or non-combat ships though. Maybe have it where every colony automatically produce a specific resource that can be used to build 1 capital ship. So bigger empires have more capital ships, but the cost of building that capital ships would be very high and would lower morale during the

The game keeps crashing since the Patch. It would start up the loading screen then crash me back to Windows. Prior to the patch, game works fine. No changes were made on my PC. No new software installed and no setting were changed. Only difference between when it was working and now is the patch.
