I know Grid isn't the greatest arcade racing game ever but, goddamn, I love it so much. It has the perfect blend of a career mode where I can make money, buy cars, hire teammates and then merges that with a with a more arcade-like set of racing mechanics. The game has a great sense of speed and an absurdly good damage model that makes events like the Demolition Derby -- an event I haven't played since De

We do have a pretty rad map editor but, as of now, it's not in the most polished and user-friendly state. If we do release it then it will most likely be relatively "unsupported."
what do speechwriters do?
They increase your charisma by ten points. Charisma is factored into the bonus applied to speeches and interviews; it's one of your most important stats outside of Money/Fundraising Ability/Stamina. Then the Fashion Consultant and PR Consultant both do the same thing for your comeliness and media bias (respectively). These are both factored into bonus calculations as well. Comeliness is very important for boosting the effectiveness of adverti

The minority and religious appeals give a candidate bonuses but the caliber of bonus and where the bonus is best applied is... Kind of invisible. It does benefit you but it's pretty hard (impossible) to determine exactly how. The data is actually there, there's just no real easy way to visualize it in-game.
Sounds like a great game.. just the kind I want to play... Unfortunately I want the Metal Gear Solid 4 Playstation 3 bundle they released in Japan.
There's a Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle in the US too, it's just not gunmetal grey.
When is that update going to come out? The bug is known for a week now...
I'd imagine that when Impulse tells you that an update is available is when the update will be out. But we don't have a set date for the update yet.
However, it does not seem to translate out to a better rating. Perhaps i'm doing something wrong.
What are you using to determine whether or not you're getting a "better rating" from campaigning against Higher Gas Prices? As Charles (CrazyC0330) said, getting an even higher negative number on an issue where your support base (your party and independents) also has a negative number is a good thing. You want your opinion to be along the lines of the people who will be v

Yup, this is fixed. When you give a speech or put out an advertisement there is a modifier (in the source code) that is applied to your issue score. What is happening is that this modifier isn't getting added to the default score so the moment you campaign on an issue the default party values that you inherit are discarded. This is fixed in the upcoming patch.

The first bug should be fixed in the next patch and the second bug is most definitely fixed in the upcoming patch as well. The interview thing is an interesting observation, though. I'll take a look at that on Monday.
Oddly enough, most of the universities complain that the games industry refuses to tell people what they want out of graduates, almost a catch 22 situation...
I have kind of a low opinion of games schools simply because, as I was learning (I'm self-taught), the kind of people who wanted others to walk them through explanations and hold their hands were students currently attending Digipen or Full Sail. The kind of people

As Intellisponse recently discovered: it's not a very intelligent maneuver to, as a marketing research firm with clients like Microsoft and Activision, leave the company's data backend in a state that can be easily accessed by the public. When such a thing occurs, and this is just an example, the gaming press may get their hands on a great deal of unannounced information . So far gamers have discovered that the Xbox 360 has a Wii-like a

Over the course of the last week I was able to play the final chapter in a franchise which I first played as a rental on my NES way back when I was a munchkin; Metal Gear was a thoroughly confusing game for the four-year-old me. I very much doubt that I made it much past the first few areas as I was not a patient child. I may or may not have played Metal Gear 2. I did, however, play the hell out of Metal Gear Solid for myPlaystation back in 1998. I played it through about four or fiv
By the way, worst to worst you can edit your candidate's issue values manually by editing the xml file, but that is a bit of a pain and of course allows you to cheat with massive values if you're so inclined.Glad to hear the fixes are done, thanks so much for responding promptly.
I was going to suggest that but it's kind of a cheap maneuver that people could also use to breach various stat/issue limits.

As more and more developers and publishers realize the benefits of distributing their products online, more types of digital distribution applications have been created to benefit the cause. At this point in time gamers have their choice of applications like Impulse (a rebranded and revamped Stardock Central), Steam, Gametap, and EA Downloader (which is now simply the E
Is there a way around this until the patch? There is not. If you create your candidate, quit out of the game, and then go back into the game then he should be given stances on all issues, but outside of that there's really not much that can be done until the next patch as the fix has to come from the codebase. So I need to create a new candidate and leave all issues at zero, then quit the game without playing a scenario or campaign and then log back in? Is that correct?
Yeah. Fo

Yeah. This a problem for me as well; when you change the option in the options screen the change isn't being written out to the prefs file. I'm fixing this now. In the mean time you can go into your Prefs.ini file (in My Documents\My Games\PolMachine2008) and change the "HardwareMouseCursor" key to 1.
Maxpower is a much more careful tester than me. I checked out his findings and they look accurate for the current build.I've got one extra data point for your analysis. If you put 1 point in every issue, restart, and play a campaign, you will start with 1's in everything. So any personal stance you start with will override the starting party stance completely. This might not be a bug, but it's related.
That was definitely a bug and it is fixed but not in the update we rele
