Patches usually fix minor bugs in games. This game needs a patch just to work properly. That isn't a problem most games have.
I'm not sure how long you've been a PC gamer but this is certainly not the case. Our patches not only fix minor bugs but also any major bugs that we encounter. Our patches also have a tendency to introduce enormous amounts of new features. I guess I could see how that's a bad thing; people hate more mileage out of their money. And

The reason that the orange cursor is contained within the window is that it is a software cursor; switching to a hardware cursor will eliminate that issue (and it's what I use all the time). The problem with the setting not between remembered between gaming sessions has been fixed and will be working as intended again in a forthcoming patch (due out very soon). In the mean time you can go into your Prefs.ini file (in My Documents\My Games\PolMachine2008) and change the "HardwareMouseCur
I don't have anything against arcade racers, they are fun. I just wish there'd be more sim racers out there.
I agree completely, but I'm not holding out hope for any good sim titles until Forza 3 and Gran Turismo 5. Gran Turismo 5: Prologue was a nice treat to whet my appetite while I wait for the full game but, now, I want the full game. Now. No, like, now .
I'm always a bit disappointed with console racers - 24 minutes for a race is hardly worthy being called endurance, you have a minimal starter field, different physics applied to gamer and AI racers, rubberbanding, AI that drives 'on rails' no matter what's happening in front, AI drivers that never overtake each other...
Normally, I would agree, but Grid isn't a sim racer. An actual twenty-four hour race in the kind of game that Grid is would feel

The way the game is structured enforces a pretty rigid two-party system for games. For the campaign we had to keep in mind that both campaigns had to be relatively balanced and paced the same way and, second, that we definitely wanted to get some of the (much) older presidents in. But, yeah, the real point is that we couldn't have George Washington assigned to the "I'm not a party kind of guy" party (which, semantically, is still kind of a party).
I do not want to wait for a patch. I would like a refund ASAP.
The game is clearly working, even if not ideally so, and you can get into a game, play a number of turns, and get out of it without so much as a crash; getting a full refund isn't a means of renting the game. As BoogieBac pointed out: one of the terms of the full refund is that a fair attempt to get the game working should be made. Is a little patience too much to ask for?
The multiplayer won't work because I don't know (and can't get) the username and password to except ports from my router.
Should try admin/password.
What has that got to do with anything?
It's generally helpful to find out what kind of machines people are having difficulties running the game with. If it's a system that definitely surpasses the requirements we'd like to know what's wrong whether you want and get your refund or not.
No that's Theodore Roosevelt a republican. FDR was a democrat.
Yeah. I know who FDR is. FDR was in the old game's campaign ladder but got cut out of 2008's line-up when we changed the size of the campaign. I forgot about that. Or I'm just completely stupid. I'm sure it's one of the two.

If you're having a white screen that is almost certainly an issue with the graphics card not supporting Shader Model 2.0 which the game absolutely requires. If a card does not support Shader Model 2.0 then it cannot be patched in by any sort of software, it's simply a limitation of the hardware. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-50572.html If that is the computer you're talking about then the graphics card does, in no way, meet the requirements for the game (espec

A white screen is indicative of a video card not supporting Shader Model 2.0 (which is required for the game); this is something that required the hardware to support the feature in order to run it and cannot be patched in by software. The GeForce 4x00 series also has no hardware support for Shader Model 2, so that's most likely your problem.
ok, but what the use of having a windowed format if the curser will not allow me to reach the borders to even just physically move it? -edit-I'm just venting my frustration of the whole setup, i don't want to play any of the other games, i just want that one game, and get it to work. for a ~200 mb game i don't expect the programming or software to be that heavy in it. nothing like Bioshock, or Assassin's Creed.
Turn on the hardware mouse cursor which is also, coincident
The map editor is not hooked up. So even though you might have seen the graphics pack for the screen, there is no way currently to access it.
He might be able to reverse engineer it, dive into the asm, hack some of the registers that we used to disable access for the gold release candidate, and then manually re-compile the source to build a new EXE with which he could use the map editor. I'm just saying; it might not be completely impossible to access. <br
I like it alot too. Its a fun racer that puts the Need for Speed series to shame. My only complaint is the "rubber-band / catch-up AI" and the different physics given to the AI (you can't knock them around as well as they can knock you). This leads to unfair races and later on some of the races are unneccesarily hard only because of this.
Yeah, the AI is annoying but, for the most part, it still manages to be better than mo

In lieu of actually doing any development tonight I, instead, chose to write a gaming article (still no Metal Gear Story; I'm still thinking about that) and then a particularly-lengthy GameDev.net Daily . Now, since I've given up hope of getting work done tonight and have accepted the idea that Battlefield: Bad Company will dominate my nights for the next few da
Please note that the # should be in the range of -10 to 10.
Actually, Position should be in the range of [-10,10]. Importance should never be a negative number; keep it in the range of [0,10]. An issue's Political Score is its importance multiplied by its position, so if you're against an issue you have a negative position and if you're for it then it's a positive number. Furthermore if you're "sort of" against a very important issue you would have a pos
