Where can I find some of those replays, and will they run correctly on the 1.095 beta?
Freddybear
I have read the "Viable strategy" thread, but unfortunately, the replays seem to have been removed, or maybe they're just obsolete with the new beta. I would like to see how some expert players gear up. Would anyone be willing to share a replay or two that I could run through on the beta 1.095 Sins?
Indeed. Chasing down the last of the holdouts can be very tedious.
Multi-star maps are possible. You have to research the tech to be able to jump between stars. A Huge multi-star random map is five stars with a total of 102 planets/asteroids/etcetera.
I think it was in the neighborhood of 850 megabytes. I have a similar connection, and it was a few hours.
I got the survey email and used the coupon to buy Sins for $9.99 off.
Ah. Thank you very much, I'll do that right away.
I wanted to purchase the game, Galciv2 "Gold edition" *plus* the expansions, but I seem to have got serial numbers registered for *only* the expansion pack(s) for my $49.95. Galciv2 itself shows up on my Stardock Central "Tools/register products" page, but no serial number included. My order reply email says "expansion bundle", did I push the wrong button on the order page? If so, how do I get this fixed up?
The poll isn't letting me vote at all. I get the "results" box without ever seeing the "vote" box. ~SDC~
"I recently purchase the drengin.net upgrade from Gal Civ." You need to update your keycode in the Metaverse to the drengin.net key instead of the galciv key. ~SDC~
Thank you, Brad. ~SDC~
What happened to the big fancy claim that the Metaverse could be used to give the AI the ability to use some human players' strategy? Why isn't Frogboy working on how the AI could do the same exploits instead of just nerfing them for the human? ~SDC~
Why is this nerfed on *NORMAL* settings, anyway? ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
Fine, then limit all the nerfs to Masochistic and higher. ~SDC~
I'm with Code Monkey: make the AI handle it better, don't just "nerf" everything that humans come up with to win. ~SDC~
Hit his last two or three systems all at once. ~SDC~
I keep thinking that the Altarian looks like this snotty rich kid that I knew in high school. ~SDC~
"sell the aphrodesiac to the other 5 majors + minors for $200+ apiece (or maybe some tech)." If you go for 20 bc/turn deals, you should get around $1000 for any of the Trade Goods. More if you get Diplomatic Translators first. ~SDC~
It might be possible to bribe the bigger one to attack the smaller, or you might be able to pick off some systems through culture and destabilization. ~SDC~
I bet he's got one big planet that is below 50% and a bunch of small colonies. ~SDC~
"You can view just the posts you've posted." How about just the threads that I've responded to? ~SDC~
You're probably overextending on colonies. Keeping spending at 100%, try using about a third of your initial bank in "colony ship" mode, then switch to heavy research spending for another third and finally to Social spending to finish some basic improvements (Soil Enrichment and Habitat Improvement, at least) and some Trade Goods. Once you use up the $1000, you'll have to scale back spending, but you can sell the Trade Goods for tribute until you get some Trade going. ~SDC~
Samms = Virgil Samms, the First Lensman! Though Palain Seven is a planet itself, not a star. ~SDC~
Just don't overdo it. As you noticed, you can rush-buy too much and stall out your economy if you hit a setback. ~SDC~
I've been picking off Altarian influence bases that way. ~SDC~
