Hotseat would make it worlds easier for me to be able to play a long game. Instead of having ass-hats drop out all the time I'll be able to make the chains just long enough for them to reach my computer.

Since there will be multiplayer (oh sweet, sweet nirvana) I would ask for some form of player sheet that would allow each of us to view the other's, well, tendency to quite games in-process. Score cards and other such stuff could be thrown in to pretty up the thing, yet mainly I just want to know if the person/s I'm potentially joining in a session rage-quit or perform other doucherrific behavior.
People are also purposely misrepresenting conflicting "wants" in the combat systems. It's amusing.
MOO3 was a lousy damned game that poisoned a franchise and showed a company's complete disregard for cohesive gameplay. Yet its races did become much more distinct. Both in their appearance and behavior. Humanoids of all stripes, machine/cyborg and fully alien blobby thingies. They had different tolerances. Some liked M-class, others gas planets (blobby thingies) and so on and so on. Colonizing became more immersive plus though provoking. How much do you really <e
It's "Eliza". :P Just found that out as I hunted it down online.
Also, what about the various race modifiers? They literally disappeared in GalCiv 2 upon conquering a planet. I had simply assumed my benelovent society murdered the ever-lovin' bajeezus out of the inhabitants and ground their bones for mortar. In a humane manner, of course.
I'm hoping for, at least, an event editor like there were for GalCiv1 (created by modders). Friends and I had a blast creating 'em and trading back and forth. I'm not savvy on how in-depth and man-hours-required a mission editor would be but it would certainly add to the game's shelf life.
Is there such a thing as an impatient processor?
I'm still banking the combat will be akin towards MOO3. Except, ya know, shelled inside a good game.
TORIAN CONFEDERATION Fourth paragraph, second line: "...and learned how strike back at their conquerors."
ICONIAN REFUGE Second paragraph, fifth line: "...and encouraged the synthetic beings an uprising against the Iconians." To an uprising? I dunno, it just doesn't read well to me. Maybe: "...and encouraged the synthetic beings to rise against the Iconians."
TERRAN ALLIANCE Fourth paragraph, first sentence - "However, the stargate plans gave scientists a better understand of how folding space worked."
ABIESSENEEEEEEERRRRRR!!!! My dander is all up in yo' grill again, homeslice! ;)
It's gotta be more than money, though. Kingdoms of Amalur...anyone?
You just want to ride Brad's worm...
Played galciv1, still have it. Loved it. My father and I both freaked when we discovered it.
I have bought the Founder's elite Edition (I checked, it's waiting in the my downloads section) and get this message: "Sorry, it appears that you do not have access to the Founder's Repository. To obtain access you need have purchased the the Founder's Edition of Galactic Civilizations III." Anyone know what the deal is here?
I heard Stardock people saying they don't l
Oh my god, could you imagine how douchy Skynet would be if it was based off the behavior patterns of us gamers? Heavens ta Betsy...the trolling alone ...
Honestly, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a pop-up or some such for planet information, like the sort ya want, in GalCiv3. If not we can beg for it. Maybe a right-click on the planet to pull up it's menu or whatever.
@Frogboy and Friends - Actually, how difficult would all that stuff be to do? Not that you should or have to do it. I'm just curious 'bout the time, effort, etc. that ya'll have to sink into such things to make 'em work and look good. Like, say, mini-menus that could pop up when a curser is over a planet. Have a slider for time-frame and maybe even for the amount of information presented. Like a simple menue versus an advanced one.
Oh, and I don't mean to be arguentative (just realized my post could be taken that way). I mean it as showing other options/tryin' to be helpful, etc. I only mean to start arguments in the Tactical thread. :P
Simply clicking on a planet would allow one to see what ships were being built and their time frames. I never had problems with not knowing what was being built while playing the largest maps. Most the planets were fairly generic, I would place everything (usually) as soon as I colonized a planet. The special projects and wonders I placed personally so knew where they were and their times of completion. If I ever got lost I simply used the planet list which describes
So if I send ya a box o' doughnuts will that help ya pull the same hours to do my bidding on GalCiv3?
Why all the hate for Windows 8? (If the glove don't fit...) Microsoft obviously got the jump on touch-based 'puters and the Tiles o' Doom (they're awesome, by the by) can easily be switched off to a more familiar, oldie-moldy-fogie-I-don't-like-change-get-off-my-lawn UI. I actually spent time on how a touch-based UI for GalCiv3 would be like and I started drooling. Couldn't they create two seperate UI options? Ya know, since we all apparently d
