Bunch of pancakes.. are the developers of this screens seems to me.

Yes, force fields are science fiction and the good old minefields are obselote in space, but perhaps usable on the planet itself ?..or are there also a force field possible what prevent enemies to invade.
The single most impactful thing that renders Mil SBs pretty much pointless isn't how weak they are, it's how much of a non-entity they are when it comes to being an effective defence: attackers can just swoop right past them and ignore them. Later on in the game when fleet moves run up into the many dozens (and low hundreds if you go balls to the wall on moves) fixed defences are of no use whatsoever because everything just swoops right
I added here strategy information i collected from @marigoldran, here a colony rush building and more .. the information is repeating itself bij adding more and more info. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ START A NEW GAME. IF YOU BUILD A FACTORY OR ANYTHING ON YOUR PLANET YOU HAVE OVER COMPLICATED THINGS. RUSH BUY SHIPYARDS WITH COLONIZER ON ALL
Frogboy, looks great, but how about the advanced governors, senators and the election stuff? That is gonna go through an expansion?
Yeah.. i find it now a boring gameplay with all that micro management
wrong button..
There is really no other way then take a closer look to the 2 of the 4 branches of the research tree for getting bigger ship hulls and develop the economy for more wealth. You can start with the engineering tree for constructing 3 ship hulls (small, medium and large). The communication branch is where you money you can earn with commerce facilities on the planets and prepare a trade ship with a cargo module and use starbases for trading. Putting some starbas
It seems to be a repetition of moves ( chess ) here ... [e digicons][/e] ... Hopefully you can tribute something for the developers of Galciv3 to improve their game ?
Exponential behavior is when acceleration in X leads to further acceleration in X
Yes, reading this from marigoldran..he needs some more math lessons about exponential grow..to learn a more precise definition x is be a increase with the same amount , while y is indeed accelerate with not a equal amount y= b x g^t , example y = e^x (b=1) and the e function has always positive values
The (some) play depth of Dwarf fortress in Gal civ 3... You can make a incredible fortress, but still losing ? ..is it because you are not playing to the fullest or the AI comes with a incredible fantasy (born in the world somewhere )monster in DF what is unstoppable? http://lazynewbpack.com/ ..use this starterpack for playing with DF and look at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGB6RkFB
Is there a easy way to look at the raw production figures for the races ? Well it is the wheel where you can find the raw production what for production... can be distributed to social /miltair manufacturing. Mp=m*p^exponent ..this is a exponential formulae ( i found this on Wiki for CalCiv3 ) p= Colony population (in billions) Mp = The Total Manufacturing generated by population==> this output increases faster when the population is growing
Thanks! Makes me more happy when i can win on a random map/size with one strategy.., but the cruiser strategy is impossible to get for all maps
stupid quote button...next to...
Well for the moment ...i can not anything do.. to solve/contribute to this error message now.
Thanks! I declared war too early..staying neutral as long as possible that is a good strategy! Why i need more planets then the AI ? ( that's a goal, but difficult to achieve ? ) Because it is on Godlike level .. development of races go as fast as possible..and 50 turns how many colonies is this ? ( i do need a critical number of colonies to get a economic advantage ) Perhaps can marigoldran ( the god of strategy ) helps me further ? <blo
This strategy seems to be too simple...waek points are the shipyards ( and i declare war too quick!) The economic /militair power development is going very fast for the races and i cannot match this by no means ..a exponential grow graph The other races must be slow down by me in their goal to go to war with me... diplomatic or treaties ?..or perhaps defending ships around the shipyards to slow down ( what is max defence of a shipyard? ) Or perhaps more militair r
Well i tried this playing level godlike and it was fun.. i managed to get 22 colonies and monitored my ranking ..and that of other races the economical / militair ranking strength. How far i must go with the colonisation ? ..what type of warships will be used then by other races against me?( i know the answer now ..i think ) I was too late with the turning point to go to militair building..timing is crucial The two enemies were attacking my shipyards and passi
You will find that the big map games are quite different. They are much slower to get started to a high activity level and you are mainly involved in building your empire by colonizing as many planets as possible and accumulating resources
In my strategy i am only worrying about having enough money to get/keep the cruiser fleet operational for attacking.. i am not interested in resource management with space
It goes rather easy winning now..then you automatically thinking on a more challencing game. Perhaps i can play on a max number of races + large map with the highest difficulty and random stars.. At he start you are limited by a 4 lifesupport distance as colonisation area.. It is simple strategy: rush colonising to get as much production and research power in a short moment of time .. only how many colonies are enough to get this ?..you are bo
Now i win a second game on nomal difficulty with a medium sized galaxy and random stars and 4 major races + one minor races + spacemonsters What galaxy size and difficulty gives the most satisfaction to win ? Still learned a lot of this second game.. It is by militaire power from cruiser fleets that i can attack enemy planets/shipyards and gain influence.. there is not yet coming a strong fleet from somewhere what is attacking my homeplanet or other colonies I
Also ..the game is hanging sometimes.. i experienced it a few times ..
Interesting topic the AI of Galciv3..it seems to me that the AI is based on a buildcapacity of a race in social/militair building .what can i race produce in terms of social engineering and militair engineering ? Militair power is the most direct way to rule the galaxy... when you can destroy enemy fleets and shipyards and do planetary invasion to invade the enemy planets ..you regain influence and enlarge your territory ( zone of influence ) A conquered
After the Drengings were beaten by me ..i played further to beat other races in their galaxy territory. Got a message from Drengings about spying ... ?..they should at this point in the game not existing anymore, because they are not showing up anymore on the diplomatic screen. Can this be a bug?
Played as beginner here..following the tactic of marigoldran Works out very well, as it seems now but there was more strategy thinking involved for me to win this game - example..destroy the shipyards from your enemy by circling around with a small cruiser fleet in the enemy territory - destroy also the defending fleet - destroy spacestation There is one strange thing: i got a meassage from the Drengin race about spying ? Str
Much better to teach the AI how to specialize economically.
Suppose, that Galciv3 AI becomes strong..really strong? Then we get the situation as in chess..playing again a grandmaster chess with his ELO rating..a normal human being can never win this.
