pop another version out, or PM me a link and I'll try it. I'm running a Terran Game, but your mods are activated (I didnt add your faction to play against). I have access to all of the current models. I can try my game, and as well start up a new one, unlock all techs, and try the sovereign....which in the past is a 100% CTD for me.

[quote quoting="post"] Hi all, Ok I am loving GalCiv3 so far but im very confused, if im honest im not finding the game especially transparent when it comes to letting me know what the heck is going on with my planets or what the best strat is. Im a long time gamer of GalCiv2 and im guessing loads of the theories are the same. So some questions....all kinda related to pop/planet specialisation. 1) What is the direct&nbsp

Ah, one point....ASCII 13 is Carriage Return. And windows does support rediculously long file names. However, this debug message happens BEFORE the event "unhide ship designer", which I think is its way of showing the ship manager is launched. Its quite possible that the unprintable character is not related in any way. The stack trace dump is quite unless, not even showing a module name, let a lone a procedure name where it crashed. Is the

A lot of peeps have been complaining about how research gets way too easy mid-late game. How about a research inefficiency bonus? All of these researchers on different worlds contributing to an empire wide project, without ANY malus? Hell, from working 20 years in the global wireless telecom environment, just waiting a few hours between east coast and west coast, let alone having to sync between Europe and Asia is a complete ass pain. The game should get harder the big

Cheers, I already opened a ticket myself, HWK-650-44791 . As you said, you cant reproduce it, but it happens on my PC consistently. And I think a few others have the same problem, but not all peeps. Yeah, the ship design files names are ridiculously long, with what seems irrelevant characters. Thats a good theory, let me know when you have an update with short names and I'll give it a try.

Lol, saw on John Oliver last night where the Canadian Goverment ordered an EXHAUSTIVE 18 month audit to uncover corruption. Yes, $1M was found, and some of the items were not very unethical (4K to attend a funeral, meals on planes, other BS Travel costs, etc). The problem is the investigation cost $26M. I think the investigators were more corrupt than the legislators.

ok, found it. BTW, running steam and Win8.0. ATI Radeon HD 7700 video. AMD Core. So, initial errors during launch up, may be trivial. Getting about 20 of these, in various directories under mods, even in ExampleMods dir: Debug Message: No files found matching mask C:\Users\dan_s_000\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Mods\StarTrekFederationMod\Campaigns\*.gc3wsdata</s

One thing that could be a very simple change, is that fighters dont carry your best tech weapons, but only the previous generation weapons (perhaps because you need the next tech to miniaturize them to fit on fighters). Thats a simple offensive combat nerf that could make a simple difference. The best weapons go on real ships, 2nd best on fighters.

some of the votes give the winner only, approval bonuses, etc - so, its worth staying in - as well, you can use your voting power to shoot down anything that will help your primary enemy, over the next 50 turns. russia and china have stayed in the UN, for similar reasons. the only reason I can see leaving is if vote after vote, you get nothing but have to pay taxes on it....

Sounds like you are new to the game, no worries, we all were at one point. Check out the WIKI which gives a LOT of info not in the manual. Lots of info can be found in the forums via searching, but the WIKI has quite a bit in one simple location. http://galciv3.gamepedia.com/Official_Galactic_Civilizations_III_Wiki

This is part of the game, called "influence". Your culture can eventually cause a planet to rebel and switch sides. INFLUENCE is therefore countered with INFLUENCE. As well, planet RESISTANCE will help your culture resist theirs. Its very crucial in this game. Colored hexes around your planets are Zones of Influence. Each planet produces influence, and going unchecked by an opponent (or lack thereof) will cause ZOI borders to change.

In my latest game, I ended up being the aggressor, but I knew they were going to DOW me, so I did a pre-emptive attack (no, it was like I surrounded planets first, I just DOWed first). Thought I was weak, so I ramped up my military very quick. The AI didnt even have a lot of ships to try to figure out what they were in love with. Well, their first ships that were "new" designs were in fact designed to counter mine. Well played AI. This may have happened simply be

Fook this. I've gone through well over 100 CTDs and havent been able to pin it down. The only thing I know for certain, is loading a template and then saving it (without any modules), will cause a CTD even on Stardock's models. My game is over, out with the mod. Sorry, I give up. Obviously not everyone is having this problem. Three points: 1) I am running steam 2) I put the Designs and Gfx data in the MyDocuments\MyGam

OK, I have a question. Were these models created on v1.02, and not tested on v1.03? I realized that you have LOT of models with weapons and defense upgrades, and you have the weapons all underneath so its really just a matter of fine tuning what you have for my situation. In fact, if I edit the Sovereign-D M1 model (disruptors, shields, titanium, point defense systems), and I immediately try to save it without making ANY changes, it crashes. Perhaps it worked well on 1
