Sustaining and living is one thing, but being able to fully contribute to the empire while blockaded is not valid. Human vs AI, AI vs human, or human vs human, there should be some consequence of owning a planetary orbit, but failing to be able to invade and win.

This brings up a serious point from current game. I'm alterian, and the Yor did an excellent job with colony spamming which I couldn't do anything about because I was surrounded by others first. By the time they got to me, they were 4x (pun intended) the size of everyone else. I was gonan throw in the towel, but decided to see how far I could go. They obviously invaded, with bio warefare on my newest worst planet. I had already ruled that one hopeless. &n
Well, first of all, I was owning the AI well before they got their carriers. Once they did, I had upgraded and tweaked my ships with even more Durantium Drivers. By the time the AI was really spamming CVs, I was on Huge ships, with Singularity Drivers, and they would wipe 3x HP CV fleets with plenty of fighters. Yes, I hear CVs are OP, but that is rather late game. And I'm sure CVs will be toned down. I'm talking about the use of Duranti
The scenario: Had all victory conditions set, and Alterians had been Rank #1 in Tech Victory the entire game. Later, they declared war on me, and I therefore didnt bother with trying to "cheat" and look at their colony/ship/tech list by doing any diplomacy. As it turns out, I won the tech victory. Looking back at my save games, the Ranking is completely broken. I eventually climbed to rank 2 (and I had researched ALL of the Age of Ascension techs, so I thought
Pretty happy with my first full game. I'm dissatisfied with 2 things from the outcome. The AI did not use Durantium in its ships for durantium drivers like I did. This made it a no contest. Especially once I added enough shields/Point/Armor to not take any damage from them. I did spend all of my pragmatic points on buffing my mines/constructors/starbases, it just seems that Durantium Drivers are a bit too OP, considering they cannot be matched until
Finally finished my first full game, on normal, and I have to say that Durantium Drivers are a bit OP. Having researched everything for a tech win (game is bugged, said Altarians were ahead of me on Ascension Victory THE ENTIRE GAME, so I ended up going for tech win - I only went into first place once I researched first Ascension tech - Altarian ships were only mid age of war tech level)....anyways, I noticed that Durantium Drivers were only matched by Singularity Drivers obtained at th
Can it be any planet? Can you therefore use colony ships as population "transports"? I've lost a lot of sweet planets, waiting to gain enough pop for a full load. Perhaps just send one for now, but always have a "transport colony" ship sending out pop later?
I've got 2 colony ships that are useless. The other races snagged 2 sweet planets I was heading for, which left the number of viable planets to colonize to zero. I plan to take them over with culture starbase spam, but what can I do with these colony ships? I'd like to reclaim that valuable 6 pop.
Thanks, that's it. 50/50, I meant it was black on one side of the shield, yellow on other. I ejected the fleet and now the shield disappeared. That's useful, if you know what it means :) haha
So, when I see my list of colonies, my capital has a shield, colored 50/50 yellow and black. during the tutorial, I thought this to indicate my capital, but later in the tutorial, both my planets had it. There is no tooltip info when I put the mouse over it. Anyone know? cheers
