How do I use those artifacts? It says put a lab on a star base near the artifact but I haven't found where the labs come from. They are not a star base option that I have seen.

Playing for a culture victory, the game crashed at TODO 185 after the first Drengin planet flipped. I had just flipped the last Iridium planet a few turn prior and there had been no glitch with the flips. I tried restarting from an autosave and the crash repeated. There is also an issue with clicking cancel on a colony ship load. This happened after the UP passed a law against further colonization. I had some colony ships that popped out later and I clicked cancel when the loading opt

Okay false alarm. It finally started after a couple of computer restarts. I may have just been impatient but when something takes over 10 minutes with no progress indicator, I tend to think something is amiss.

I haven't played Civ in a while but I believe there is not a hard limit on how powerful one city can become. As the Admiral said in Galciv, your home planet is a PQ10 and that makes it hard to win with the one planet. I seem to recall a few trying this strategy in GC2 but I don't recall any results. I don't see any way to make it work.

[quote who="admiralWillyWilber" reply="3" id="3496505"] First of all can you make the post a little clearer. Unless we get a better way of keeping track of automated ships especially colony ships I would rather not have stellar cartiography . Let me explain the planet finding working for you. To be a planet it has to revolve a planet three times. The disadvantage with this assuming a fifteen year mission we will never planets more than five years from the sun. I'm talking about orbit

[quote quoting="post"] As has been noted, the idea that in a hundred + years when intersellar travel is possible, can we not have an idea of planets BEFORE going there? I am not saying there can't be an easter egg, but the idea you have no idea of how many planets or even if they are gas giants is ridiculous. In the last 20, and especially less than 10 years, we are finding planets right and left! Put a limit on size vs range of tech to know, I am good with that. Hell, we will probab

Which types/brands of mice are not working properly? Also have any of the keys been reprogrammed on the mice? My mouse that didn't work was an Anker Gaming Mouse and yes the center button had been programed to refresh. I tried to de-program the center button but had no success. I probably could have figured it out but I just changed to a Logitech wireless and it works great.

Playing a small game against the Iridium Corporation and I conquer all their planets but Iridia. It has a huge population (over 37 billion). I have tried everything I can think of, filling the transport to 10 billion, and well what else can you try? They have no ships showing in orbit, I have researched all military tech related to invasion. The invasions are not failing, they are not initiating. I click on the planet and my transport just stops as if there were defending ships in orbit.

[quote who="forceinfinity" reply="68" id="3494154"] But most 4x games I played have a hard time sticking the landing, and by that I mean the mop up phase. It's must like the game of Monopoly. We know you're supposed to play that game until everyone else is bankrupt, but there comes a point where you know the opponents are beaten. Usually people just resign and call it good. Unfortunately, you have to go scorched earth most of the time with the 4x games until you

Diplomacy; Trading, Alliances, and most of all the ability to secure a surrender from a beaten foe, to negate the need to take out every nook and cranny of their empire. I have never kept track of the turns but it would be a lot, probably average at least 40-50 turns an hour for minimum average 4 hours up to 20 hours max. So, from 200-1000 turns depending on the size of the map. My all time favorite games, not counting GalCiv, are/were Age of Empires, the early SM Civ games (I

[quote who="Folgra1" reply="7" id="3492628"] I still have not been able to use the designer to rotate the ship left and right or to raise or lower the nose or tail to see to position items. For some reason, the standard method the of the players are using just doesn't work. IU haven't programed any buttons, and am using a new microsft wireless mouse and keyboard. Now that colony ships auto-launch, there doesn't seem to be an option to load fewer than max population and the number of pods does not matter. Will there be any options for smaller colonies in the future?

Nope, I am still not getting it. Is there no simple way to get a top view, bottom view, rear view and head on. without manipulating the red, green, blue, rotating rings? When I use the rotate rings I am not rotating the entire ship, just the wings, engine or some other part. I can't seem to select the whole ship. Very frustrating.

I feel a little embarrassed (dumb) that I am having this problem. I can't seem to get the hang of rotating the ship hulls after adding, or to place parts. I haven't found a way to select the entire ship including all parts. No problem with the individual parts, just the ship as a whole. I never had a problem with GCII and I really enjoyed designing ships, but I just can't seem to get the hang of this system and the rotating apparatus. It is like I am somehow missin

[quote who="Siylenia" reply="20" id="3473298"] True, and I do agree with your realism points. But conflicts with realism here are minor at best; there are FAR less realistic entities in the game as is. Also (please correct me if I'm wrong here) I don't think the definition of a Planet Class has been specifically defined to gauge our realistic assumptions on. For instance I've always seen understanding the Planet Class as understanding the logistics capacity for the pla
